Don't rule out Tabletop. DOW Is quite bad compared to it.
Don't rule out Tabletop. DOW Is quite bad compared to it.
dont think many people are gonna shell out 100's of dollars for miniatures if they know nothing about the game
Yeah but if you want to get into tabletop you have be ready to sink some serious dosh into it

DoW has a far easier barrier to entry than table top.
I wonder, assault terminators obviously have to fight face-to-face with enemies all the time, so you'd think they would get knocked down every now and then. There has to be a solution for the problem
Maybe they can use their teleporters?
We can probably put some faith in DoW2's rule that you can't knock down terminator armor. Just a shitload of mass to be working against.
I still don't get how space marines spawn/teleport in retribution, are they riding the lightning to the battlefield?
I think it makes some sense since the only canonical space marines you're using are Blood Ravens, I seem to recall reading somewhere that they're not that wary of the dangers of warp travel/teleportation.

they weigh thousands of pounds, practically walking tanks
you don't see dreadnoughts getting knocked down and termi's are tactical dreadnought suits
Tactical Dreadnought =/= Dreadnought.
They're actually not made from Dred Technology but rather stuff used during the Great Crusade to fix plasma cores etc etc albeit heavily modified. So yes, it's not impossible they they get knocked over.
So, Tactical Dreds are basically Hazmat suits with guns attached?
Heavily modified and armoured, but essentially, thats what they were based on.
They were probably heavily armored in the first base to shield from radiation
Well, plasma really, since thats what the hazard suit it was built around was for. So really they should get a bonus rule to protect them from plasma weapons.
Anybody have that picture of Angry Marines titan?
You mean
I know they would make jokes, I just wouldnt expect it coming from an Ultramarine, since, from what I have read, are the most loyal to the codex, altho I'm not sure if the codex covers anything about making jokes.
Also [sp]if you get banished from your own chapter, might as well just crack a joke or two.
Btw, what happens if you get banished from your chapter? Are you labeled heretic and get killed or something?[/sp]
Well [sp] Uriel and Pasanius were sent on a Death Oath to the demon word of Medrengard to destroy what were basically giant demon wombs that were used to create new Iron Warriors but failed half of the time [/sp] but I don't know what happens with other chapters.

[sp]Blood Angel Captain lost a sword supposedly handed to one of the Blood Angel's Champions. has to undertake a "Bloodquest" to retrieve said sword with a group of people who joined voluntarily they have their names erased from Chapter records until the Bloodquest is over and sword is retrieved[/sp]

Well, no matter what chapter you choose, you'll still have reinforcements and your dead commander teleport back in front of your base if you choose to revive/reinforce them/him for requisition.

The campaign in DoW1 was good, but why do you think he shouldn't try out the other DoW games/expansions?

Chainblades on Chainblades that have attachable chainblades with more chainblades on them. All below a "Land Raider Launcher". Gotta love it.

To be honest after playing dow2 I can no longer play dow1 anymore. For me dow2 is just superior.
Any books about the Blood Angles chapter after I've finished the next Horus Heresy book?

Must be damn sharp corners if they're Blood Angles.

I don't think DoW2 is superior, but i think it's more balanced than DoW1.
There are so many ways to rush your enemy at the beginning of the game, i don't like that feature of DoW1.

I do miss base building however. And slightly larger scale conflicts.
I do miss base building however. And slightly larger scale conflicts.
Another thing about DoW1 is that you couldn't retreat in it like you could in DoW2.
All you could do was simply run away from the enemy if you were losing the battle, and i would often lose units/squads because they would be attacking my units while i was running away.
How's the Blood Angels Omnibus?
