I'm playing it now on 7 64bit. Runs perfectly, the only thing is that the game doesn't support 16:9 and 16:10.

Also, the following is pure rumour, but some guy over at HC who supposedly is/was member of the "secret forum" (and he was a moderator of HC, and the devs said they contacted the most active members, so it wouldn't be strange if he was really member of the secret forum) leaked quite a lot of info just after announcement (and I think I copied that post down in a .txt file on my other computer, I'll check tomorrow), but was deleted soon after.
Now the interesting thing is that he listed around 15 things (from gameplay changes to technicalities), which no one believed at the time. Now that we got some updates, turns out about 7/12 of the things he said have been revealed to be true, while the other 5/12 haven't been discussed or revealed yet.
According to him, the 5th faction is indeed Naga, and Sandro will be back (also funny thing is, that around 5 weeks after he posted that the HoMMVI official Facebook posted stuff about the old Heroes heavily hinting at Sandro being in HoMMVI).

I wouldn't post rumours usually, but since his rumours have been pretty much 100% true up until now...

There's a program called Gameranger which is basically a server list for a bunch of games, and it supports Heroes 3, there's usually about 5 games going on for it.

I'm dying to find those, but they deleted the posts on the forum and I can't find the .txt file (if I even saved it).
Also funny thing is, when he posts that every one else goes "Uh dude we're not supposed to disclose that yet", then after the post gets deleted they say "loel guys it was an early april fools we got you gud didn't we?!", like if that would make us think the info is false after they went :eek: and deleted his post and any post quoting it (it might be false, but that's definitely not the way to give that impression).

Well anyway out of what I remember the only two big things were Nagas and Sandro, the rest were lesser things (plus we don't know if it's true, though if either of those is confirmed I'd be ready to bet that the other one is true, but that isn't the case yet).

I got heroes 4, and im certain that i played it for 4 minutes, then i saw "combat". "Tell your knight to walk across the awfully animated field to attack the evil knight, then hope for the best!"

I'm playing Heroes 3 with my friend but it seems to crash quite much. Does anyone get the same problem?
Also, is it possible to spectate fights of my allies? So damn boring to just watch the message and not being able to do anything

Where did you buy it from? GoG has a forum about the game (but I think you need to either have bought the game or at least to have an account), if not Heroes Community has a HoMM3 section which probably is the most active one you can find. Maybe someone does know a fix here on FP, but there's a much higher chance of someone knowing if you ask there.
Though start by running in Admin mode, set compatibility to XP or 98, and try setting core affinity to 1 (if you have a multi-core CPU). I don't know if it will fix the crashing, but it usually helps for old games.

As for the spectating, no probably not, at least not without extensive modding. That's one thing I hope they fix in 6 (can't know if it's already fixes in 5 since I have only played hotseat in that one).

Really not keen on the Necropolis. They're so greenish. Inferno, on the other hand, looks ass-kicking while haven has way too much shiny golden armor plates. Thanks for the pictures, though.

Yeah, Necropolis is ruined with that greenish look. Inferno is fire and chaos, Haven is order and discipline, Necropolis should be cold and pure death (no colours at all, only different gradations of black and white, maybe the occasional red but rarely).

No idea, it could belong to Inferno but it's not "fiery" enough. Either it's a neutral (probably), an un-used old concept for the HoMMV 3rd expansion or it's for some Might-heavy (like Stronghold) faction (be it in HoMMVI or it's inevitable expansion).

Yeah I much prefer this new Necropolis to the HoMM5 one. I still don't really like the green, but it seems to be toned down (or at least it's a more desaturated green).
