How can you make a 10% discount coupon when your own games get discounted more than that whenever its on sale?

I have no idea... And the coupons are only valid from january 2nd to march.
so they can be used to buy a game you couldnt afford while the steam sale.
But they exclude any games released after january 2nd.
But there are certain gold tickets that can be used even now for a extra discount.
