Yes. Same with music or texture-art or flavor-art, whatever creates an impression through the senses without having to be analyzed by a decrypter first.
Too bad the mind can't be decrypted unless you are the person himself.

I thought [sp] her mom covered her from the fire[/sp] or something like that.
But man, if there was some sort of flashback or something, I wouldn't be able to take it.

The story was rewritten and the only thing they did was a genderswap, they left the scene out obviously.

[sp]It is her mother. It was suppose to be her father, but they changed it[/sp]

That's what I meant by decypter. The word to feeling chart.
[editline]14th January 2012[/editline]
And what I said denies what i said before.
I'm tired, I might give you an answer later today, but I doubt it. Count it as a win.

Huzzah I am victorious, except this isn't about who wins or not but rather by perspective.
And it was more about how Rin deals with her emotions anyway.

I think Shizune would know if she could hear it.
Wait, no it doesn't. What I said in the first comment was :
Speaker:
Emotions - concept -> (via language) word
Listener:
word -> (via language) concept
And in the second:
Painter
Emotions - concept ->(via subjective translator) image -> (via artistic quality) painting
Viewer
painting -> (via natural characteristics (red - aggravating, blue - calming) feeling - concept
And I said the second method transmitted the concepts more faithfully.
Alright, let's examine this shit. First off, we'll ignore the listener/viewer, since this is about putting shit in paper, not putting it and then reading it. Let's also ignore the painting skill because this is more about the potential of imagery more than it is the potential of painting.
So, an image is restricted by the visible light spectrum and the limits of the human eye for detail. (an atom emitting red or blue makes you see the same shit).
Language is restricted by first, the limits of sound (the hear-able sound spectrum and the limits of the human ear) and then its own construction.
Sound or imagery are translated once, but you need to construct words. Emotional translation to sound or image is natural, but you have to force, to construct into words.
But that's just be a problem from a technical point of view. but if you disregard technical problems, they all have the same potential, hell, words are just visual and auditory constructs, anyway.
Okay, so I guess it's easier to express yourself with a certain faithfulness via imagery/sound/etc.
Which means it has more limitations, yes, but that doesn't mean it's useless.
So, I guess I should reword that as, if you have an emotion and you know the language you should not be incapable of expressing yourself (at least approximately).
Hell, if you are entirely uncapable to describe it with words but know the language (that approximately covers that emotion) then I'll just claim what I did before. You aren't expressing yourself.
You are taking an emotion, painting something that evokes that emotion and there. That isn't expression, expression is identification of emotion and then translating it to image (with that other subjective translator).
God, what the fuck am I saying?

And yeah it is. Logic rules thought, it says two thought that contradict eachother can't be both right, which is what's happening here. Someone's a loser and someone's a winner.
Hey falcon and mountainwatcher, Weren't you guys debating about something else earlier in the thread as well?
naw, that was crunchmonkey or something
naw, that was crunchmonkey or something
I've definitely seen your username engaged in lengthy TLDR discussions more than once in this thread :v:
... would you please?
yeah it's getting kinda annoying
I must never back down from an argument lest I return to the lamp. It is my curse.
You guys could take it to pms or visitor messages.
naw, that was crunchmonkey or something
Uh no? I mean there was the Yume thing that lasted barely over a page but I'd hardly consider it a debate because I didn't want a debate. And seriously how hard is it to double check my name?
I meant falconkrunch, I remembered him by his avatar. No idea why I merged it with your name.
[editline]14th January 2012[/editline]
And yeah, sure I'll shut up now.
So now that the debate is over, let's talk about cripples some more.
who needed an epilogue the most
who needed an epilogue the most
I feel both Emi and Hanako's ended a bit too abruptly, but out of those two I'd say Hanako's would be the one most in need, as it felt almost open-ended.
who needed an epilogue the most
Shizune and Emi
Hanako didn't really need one (path could have happened over a longer period of time though)
Rin definitely didn't need one, that was the whole point
Lilly had one

Especially since she barely talked most of the time.
Hanako, for sure. I think that's the only arc that can have further history.

You should really take a look at all the "fan" fiction posted on page 113 . It's written by one of their writers and is enjoyable to read.
EDIT: In case you don't feel like visiting page 113 again:
I guess not, but I'll post it then.
Basically a nice fan fiction based after the Hanako good ending obviously. It's got quite a twist.

Everything is from the official writer as far as I'm aware.
First set is what happens after the good ending.
Second set is stuff which is cut from the game or other things written by him/her.
