Just finished Rin's arc. I have to say, it was interesting that there was more of an internal dialogue with Hisao than with anyone else's arc. While the ending didn't really give me the warmth I was expecting, it was a good closure.
I've finally come to the conclusion after playing through every arc that there was more thought process going on in my head than before I played. Whether my own personal situation ties into that or not, I don't know, but what I do know is, I come away from this game feeling like I gained a little something from it.
Out of all the arcs, Hanako's arc was amazing (if not abruptly short), and Lilly's arc was perfect. It was close, but out of all of them, I think Lilly's arc comes out on top. Lilly, Hanako, Emi, Rin, and Shizune, in order of feeling. Personally, the reason I liked Lilly's arc more is that there seemed to be more of a social aspect that went completely missing in Rin's arc. By no means does it diminish her arc, but it focused more internally than on the external.
Chances of a sequel are slim, I know, but I would at least like some kind of graphic novel or fanart that stays true to the story but adds more substance to Hanako's arc. I've already seen some rather promising fanart out there, (as well as some rather horrifying fanart).
Excellent game that leaves a lasting impression, rare now-days. I do feel a bit sullen after reading all their stories, but it's closer to reality because I now think about things I haven't really taken into account before. What is love? What defines who I am? What is my future? Honestly, makes my past trials of life seem trivial of whats to come.
All in all, if a game makes me think about that, how can it not be a good game?
