Your gun example fails. Someone's reasons for making any choice are their own as long as their motives are their own. There is no such thing as "unaware coercion", which would be what you're implying [sp]Hisao is doing by having consensual sex with Hanako when he doesn't know her true motives for consenting, as if he is supposed to know when she chooses not to reveal them[/sp]. When you pull a gun on the other hand the motives for the choice is known by both parties. You can pretend it's consensual, but you both know it isn't really because its coercion no matter how you view it. Any court would agree. In other words, awareness of the motives makes a world of difference. If that wasn't the case, people could get each other sentenced to jail for rape by saying "I was explicitly consenting to sex, but I didn't actually want it for reasons I chose not to reveal/I changed my mind".

Your motives are always your own. [sp]And that's my point, in the gun scenario, it's rape, I don't see why it isn't analogous to this. You choose something when the consequences of that action are better than the other options.
