Regarding the VN megathread.
I had announced a while back that I would make it, and never gave up work on it. I requested an actual logo for it in the art forums and wrote info about a few VNs. I also told Banned? about it a while ago. Truly, I have no interest into an internet cat fight just for a megathread about something I like.
I also often requested people to give me their own opinions on some VN they've played so we can have the opinions of Facepunchers on a VN rather than just my own, but sadly there was little to no reply to these messages.
I didn't start the thread just yet because I was told to wait until the Katawa Shoujo thread dies/locks itself. It seemed to be a good idea because even if we made a VN megathread a lot of people would only talk about Katawa Shoujo.
So yeah, In short, I never stopped working on the VN megathread, I just had other things to do and I had to wait anyway. It's all typed and has details on how to work Applocale/Japanese unicode, few tricks and tips, images of VN, important links/images to give good hints at what you should read and with several VNs. Those are the ones that have an image, description and details.

Higurashi's in the same universe as Umineko also it's an incredibly popular one. It's got a manga and anime adaption, too. It's basically like Umineko (mystery with slight horror undertone) but the setting is a small rural town in the 80s, and instead of focusing on [I]how[/I] people are getting killed, it focuses moreso on why and who.
Are there any more animations?

Yeah, after checking the image on VNDB it hit me like a flashback. Haven't read it but heard it was really fucked up. Adding it to the list.

I've watched all of the animu except that one OVA arc that was released a month or two ago. I know that there's a few gory scenes, but overall the show is less violent than people are lead to believe, so I assume that carries over to the game it's based on.

I just checked up on a let's play of the first arc of the game and it seems that the violence at the end of it isn't visualised, so I'd say it's safe enough to play but it's definitely creepy.

On a VN related note: I downloaded Saya no Uta. I started it and clicked the DON'T CENSOR VIOLENCE button. Worst mistake I have ever made in a game.
