I guess people want there to be a VN Megathread, even though having one literally would not change the discussion within it a single bit. KS is the "most popular" VN, and therefore would be the most talked about in a VN megathread, but people talk about other VNs in this thread all the time. A VN megathread (or remaking this thread at all) would be pointless unless it auto-locked because having a [I]different thread[/I] for the [I]same thing[/I] doesn't make any difference.
I think KS is a lot different than other VNs. It's big enough to have its own thread, and making KS discussion strictly in a VN megathread will clog up the thread with KS stuff.
Also alot of people that like and want to talk about KS don't like VNs.
Like, KS captures a whole different audience than normal VNs do.
Make a KS thread in chat thread subforum, problem solved.
They should make a "VN megathread Discussion" Thread.

I think that's pretty redundant. I've played a lot of VN that are different from each other. Katawa Shoujo is getting the very sweet treatment because it's free and it's pretty much the first VN of a lot of people. Plus, it's very easy to grab and play, compared to others.
Katawa Shoujo is a good visual novel, and I disagree that it's placed toward a different audience than normal VNs.

KS really isn't a very big VN at all honestly. For reference one route of FS/N or Tsukihime is about the length of KS in its entirety.
Once more what exactly do you think sets this so far apart from other VNs? There's others that manage just as much emotional depth as KS and others still that take a similar 'niche' approach to the dating sim genre.
Finally what exactly do you think you'll be talking about in a couple of weeks when everyone has played every route and when Misha and Kenji jokes start getting real old?

Katawa Shoujo team jumped ship after the VN released. So it wouldn't be called Katawa Shoujo 2 and it wouldn't be written by the people behind KS, so of course I would have no interest in it.

I think most of us would find it harder to read a visual novel with romance as its main driving point where the people you are supposed to get an emotional connection with are obese men instead of girls.

People have already proposed the concept of Katawa Shounen before, though not necessarily in a "WHAT IF THEY WERE OBESE THOUGH HA GOT YOU BY SAYING SOMETHING PRETTY MUCH NOBODY WOULD ENJOY THAT MEANS I WIN :smug:" manner. A lot of people stated they would be willing to play it if it were made by the same group, because they know their storytelling. It's the same reason women play KS, I mean, your mileage may vary, but having the situation reversed doesn't necessarily make it unenjoyable.
