Got a guy I know into this game... He was apprehensive at first but then he played it and with the Hanako Good Arc. He pretty much stayed up till 4 in the morning, then went to his local park and cried.

Here's his philosophical theory about the game. I was shocked at how deep it was. I creyed.

This game was a great idea in the eyes of the creators (basement dwelling folk (as bad as it is to say this))

His interpretation of the students is that the creators wanted to put a little of their own insecurities inside of them in the form of their disabilities (ex. No arms - can't hold or love others, no legs - not being able to run after the person who leaves you (Emi [sp] not being able to "run" after her dad anymore[/sp]))

The player character is the person that the creators feel that they really want themselves - a person who is able to look past everyone's details and truly see what is in their heart. Someone who can realize that even though others might look different, they are still people and have feelings, and past experiences (no matter how traumatic) of their own.

The disabilities of the students are physical traits thought of by the creators to express their own opinions of themselves(Not pretty enough, not good looking/athletic, or acceptable by modern standards) The PC Solves this by taking people not by face value, but by their own personal capabilities/feelings whether it be joy filled or sorrow. The PC figures after awhile they are ordinary people and should be approached and interacted like "normal".

Who better to make this game than the people who put up with this every day of their life?

For some reason I'm not actually feeling very emotionally affected by this game. Keep in mind that I cry easily as hell when watching movies and other things. I've only done Emi's route so far. Are the others more impactful?

If you've played a lot of visual novels, you sort of get used to the "feels".

I didn't cry during Katawa Shoujo at all, the only moment where I really felt something was at the end of Lilly's or during Rin's entire arc.
