It's just part of shizune's arc, it's the bad ending.
you can actually get the good ending after that, so nope

It's not like they are completely helpless without you, as we see in Lilly's path [sp]Hanako is probably better off without Hisao caring so much for her[/sp], and even if they still have issues, it's not like they can't solve them on their own. Emi would have probably [sp]opened up herself to someone later[/sp].
It's not like Hisao is a superman who saves all the girls from certain doom.

Good points, but still.
...Hanako's starting video is creepy as fuck for the starting bit.
Was I meant to be creeped out by it?

Yeah, that's why the Lilly path feels the most "complete". Only person who probably won't fix their issues later on would be Rin.

I think you missed the point of the video. It was meant to be sad. (Everyone moving past/away from Hanako who is standing still, scared and alone? That's not creepy, that's sad)

Yeah but then there's you standing still and it turns cute

Hisao represent a "Beacon" in the midst of the waves of people as something to trust or something like that.
Also, I noticed people treat the pink haired girl like she's got autism.
Typical anime girls act a lot like her.
Does this mean a common anime girl has autism?
More importantly, why the fuck am I looking in so deep on this?
No, I meant the whole (I'm gonna guess it's a flashback probably, haven't gone past tea time at Act 2) flashback at the very start. That was creepy. The rest with the crowd fastmotion was sad.
Hanako: [sp]Also, who's bright idea was it to have tea after hours IN THE GIRLS DORM I CAN'T SEE HOW THIS CAN GO WRONG. [/sp]
edit, Hanako: [sp]Wait, it didn't go wrong. Goddamnit. I was going for a "TOLD YOU SO" moment.[/sp]
Wow, I feel like a turd since I can't even bring myself to tears while playing/reading this. Great, I'm a human being without emotions.

Maybe things that aren't real don't impact you as much as a group of guys at their early 20's?
Wow, I feel like a turd since I can't even bring myself to tears while playing/reading this. Great, I'm a human being without emotions.
That's OK, I've heard that robots are taking over the world very soon. You'll probably be spared!
Hanako: [sp]Oh lord they're breaking out the children's drawings and the probably dead parents plot. HOLD THE LINE TEARS IT'S ALL A FEMINIST PLOT[/sp]
Wow, I feel like a turd since I can't even bring myself to tears while playing/reading this. Great, I'm a human being without emotions.
I teared up a few times, no crying though, wish I could.
Did anyone else try to make out what the people were saying in the back ground? You know when you enter a class room or cafeteria full of people?
I can make out some English words, but maybe that's just my mind filling in the unknown
Still I'd be surprised if they used actual Japanese conversations to flesh out the setting
[editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
I never teared up, but then again it's not like I ever intentionally avoided emotional media to appear "manly"
Don't know if I already posted this, but I saw some people asking for other visual novels, and I have this nifty guide.

Not crying isn't a bad thing, it's impacted you as long as you feel different after playing. If you can quit the game after playing and continue doing whatever, treating it as any other game you play, then it hasn't impacted you. I never cry at anything really, and "emotional" crap doesn't interest me (love movies, novels, etc), but this game made me think more about things.

I played 999, it was great. It's a game only though right? I never would have thought of it as a vn.

Out of these I'd highly recommend chaos;head if you enjoy mindfucks and paradoxes, saya no uta if you enjoy general horror, and yume miru kusuri for great writing and character development.

Lilly is a Demo(Wo)man.
Goddamnit, LMAO pics is going off agaisnt the game as bullshit weeaboo shit. Fucking knew this would happen.
let them, it's not like it affects you.
Also personal reccomendations are (for this type of setting, not my favourites):
Kanon, Clannad, Shuffle!, Da Capo (Both 1 and 2).

Dohoho Sengoku Rance
Oh yes, I highly recommend that.

Same here, but I'm almost sure it's because I didn't play/read long enough.

I gotta admin i found it to be weaboo-shit first and just went in to see the non-existant chocolate scene with hanako, i found it to be quite interesting.
Anyway, I noticed that even though I completed Rin's route, her little movie didn't unlock in the Extras. Do I need to 100% her course (all scenes unlocked)? If so, how the hell do I get the first 5 or something?
Hanako's movie is there, but I did unlock all her scenes so I can't tell if it's because of that, or if it's a bug.
Rin's "cards" are present in the menu, though.

As soon as I saw that starting, I just nope'd and abandoned thread.
If I stayed, the funnies would be tainted and I can't deal with the loss of my funnies right now :unsmith:

As far as I know, the cinematic for the character you choose is unlocked after spending the festival with them. Perhaps you should replay Act 1 and see if that changes anything? Maybe following the Act 1 guide for Rin to make sure the right choices were made all the way through.
