I hop in a jet, I have no flares no missiles and just a shitty machine gun. Everyone ELSE has flares, heat seeking missiles, super armor piercing machine guns, and everything else under the sun.
I hop in a Helicopter, I have crappy rockets that don't go where I aim them, again no flares, and no missiles. Everyone and their grandmother has heatseaking missiles and shoots me down.
How in the fuck do you do this shit.
The most I've managed to kill in a jet or helicopter is when I rammed my jet smack into the cockpit of a helicopter. I didn't get any credit for it, but damned if it wasn't hilarious.

I thought that most of you also hated the program. And it is probably about 100 times worse then steam. I know this is a stupid question, but I have heard that it scans your documents, is that true?
What maps get A10's? And don't A10 unlocks not count towards the jet fighters?
Also I've tried being in the gunner seat of a helicopter and the fucking pilots never fly close enough to the ground for me to hit people. I don't do damage to tanks, and they're too spastic for me to get good beads on anything else.

Attack Helicopters are easy, just hop in the gunner's seat and let the pilot do the defending. Focus on infantry if you can't destroy tanks.
Jets, on the other hand, are a bit more difficult. You can either fly unpredictably to make sure no-one can hold a lock on you, or you can focus on strafing ground targets. Or ram shit and hope for the best.
It's 300 points to get flares.
Seriously if you can't manage to get 3 kills in a jet without flares and unlocks, I doubt you can really do much with them unlocked.
If the ability to ride on top of MAV's hasn't been patched yet, who wants to try to get on top of the buidlings at A on OP: Metro?

Then you're doing it wrong. You're trying to use jets when the situation clearly demands you use either a tank or an AA to clear the area. It's like being in a firefight and complaining when your knife isn't useful because you can't get to the enemy. You're using totally the wrong weapon for the situation. Jets shouldn't be a vehicle you can just always use and get 50000000 points (despite what the retard pilots who continually bitch at dice think)
They're situational, and they require support.

Okay so I need to use a tank or AA to clear the area.
How am I going to use a tank to kill a helicopter and two jets? Or AA for that matter? When everything has flares and when I jump in the AA Tank they just strafe me with rockets until I die.

I think you just had a bad game and got baseraped. Just try it again a few times and you'll end up getting your flares really quick. If that doesn't work just play something else.

I usually do pretty good as an engineer/tanker. Even if I can't actually hit them because of flares, the seeking missile launcher engineers have is pretty good at dissuading jets/copters.
I actually, swear to fucking god, managed to shoot down a helicopter today. In a tank. With the main cannon.

That's because it's not meant to. SOFLAMs laser designate targets so that ballistic weapons do more damage. They also let Javelins lock onto planes and choppers.

Unlock the javelin.
Once there was a recon on my team who set up a soflam overlooking most of the map. We ended up with total air superiority because before their jets and helicopters could do anything major they'd be shot down by guided tank shells, javelins, and helicopter missiles because someone was using the soflam.
If you team up with someone in Vent/Teamspeak, it's a godsent weapon which can do so some serious damage on conquest maps. Otherwise... It's the most useless thing in existence which is only used to annoy the living crap out of jet pilots.
Working on it. Don't really know when I'll unlock it though.

My all time favourite tactic for taking out enemies on any map is to ram them full speed with boost with my tank.
Oh god the best was when I was coming down the Russian spawn hill on Caspian and there was a troop transport on the road. I shot it in the side middle and rammed into it going 55kph. It was so fucking hilarious. The poor thing flipped onto its' side immediately and I shot it in the underbelly.
it really annoys me how many things can lock on to vehicles with the SOFLAM. it seems like on any map where they're using a SOFLAM, as soon as i take off in a jet or helicopter, i'm instantly locked on to by their SOFLAM and an UNAVOIDABLE guided shell from a tank or a javelin missile takes me out. it's kind of ridiculous
I finally unlocked rocket pods for the jets, now air (and land-air) battles with reevezy will be even.
