I just dled lastest Nvidia beta driver and suddenly my BF3 started to run well and all with stable 50+ fps.
What was the date of release for this new nvidia driver?
I am wondering if I have it or not...
Like October. Also, I found out that having mesh detail on ultra crashed mine, but not sure why punkbuster is kicking me. Maybe i'll have to update that..
SOFLAM basically allows you to designate targets for guided missiles/shells and javelins.
Problem is very few people have any of those, so they hold little use unless you know someone does.
That's where laser painters for attack helicopters come in.
This is pissing me off, game always seems to crash on the "end of round" screen causing my sound card to loop over the same sound, meaning I have to restart computer..
Got the same shit. Decided to just return my GPU and not give a shit about it. Since with me it's the Nvidia drivers failing/freezing.

Ughh I don't know whether I should or not, but what would I replace it with that's under the £200 mark? Other games run great, but it's whether I should just replace it because of one game..
EDIT: By the way, try altering the mesh quality from Ultra to high, if that's what you had it at.
Yo dudes, I currently have 1200 euros in my bank account just chillin. Could I build a gaming PC that runs BF3 on ultra settings 50+ FPS with that money?
Honestly, you could get one for less than that. Maybe only 800-900 euro.
Definitely

I think so.
If it won't be able to, you'll at least be able to run BF3 on low-medium-high, to be honest, even on low settings, BF looks wonderful.
Just got my first mav kill.
Still don't know how to do it properly.
What does Facepunch think?
Is it worth taking my 560ti back to replace it with a 6950 1GB that costs £10 more? The 560ti runs great, etc, just i'm unsure about it's drivers for Battlefield 3 which is a game i'd be playing the most.

Everyone I know with a 560ti plays BF3 just fine, who is your 560ti manufacturer?
[editline]10th January 2012[/editline]
Also, that was some nice rounds on that FP server

I'm SO fucking tired of not being able to change mouse wheel button to something else than changing weapons in vehicles (I use that button for voice chat)
Seriously, everything I tried didn't work

ASUS. This one:

Could it be that I have everything Ultra (except mesh quality) and 2x AA? How much more vram would AA use? I'm playing at 1680x1050 btw.
Wow lots of people got 560 TIs huh...
Goddamnit I could get one aswell...
Theres like 4 different models for the 560 on the website I'm looking. Normal non TI and normal TOP non TI, TI and TI TOP.
What are the differences from "non TOP" to TOP?
NVM... OC'd versions.

They are great little cards. For some reason the nVidia GTX x60 models tend to be really good value for money, my GTX 460 can still play the game on mostly high at 1080 (preferably without AA, but you can if you hate good framerates). But the 560Ti is a massive improvement over the base 560 from what I remember of benchmarks.
How do you guys think BF3 will run on a laptop with an i5-2430M (2.40 GHz), 6gb ddr3, and a Nvidia GT 540m? Oh, and the resolution is 1366x768.
I'm expecting somewhat decent frames on all low which is fine with me but it can't hurt to ask.

The normal 560 came out after the 560 Ti, afaik they're just slower Ti's.

With that resolution you'll be getting 60fps on medium IMO

Hmm, that should be a good one... I'd replace the card if you're having crashes because of a setting (latest drivers I assume)
Wow the beta drivers really helped my framerate

And I could get the OCd version for 260€, although I don't know how good would that be with a E8400 at 3ghz.

What drivers? The one from December?
Yeah. Now my game doesn't stutter at all.
What drivers? The one from December?
I'd like to know this too. For sure, the 285.62 drivers (current) are awful in the long term (like crashes) but framerate seemed fine in the short..
Yeah. Now my game doesn't stutter at all.
Which exact ones, got a download link please?

Myself, i'm just RMA'ing my Palit 560 ti for an EVGA 560 ti. Word is that they do actual support of their products in the form of Bios updates and such. I'd advice you to do the same.

I have a 330m, not sure what you have but its probably more powerful.

Ahh, it's a notebook driver.

You can't tell me all 560 ti cards other than EVGA just have issues with BF3 though and the manufacturer is at fault, can you? I have the ASUS TOP one as well. It has to be the drivers because when I installed the 290.53 driver it helped a shit load, though it still crashes at times...

I'm not. I'm just saying that EVGA is a safer bet. Gigabyte seems to offer equal service too. The odds of getting a working card are better.

Aye, just looked. Do you mean this?

I can cope with the odd crash but if it happens every game..
Snip- doublepost.
I do not like how Battlefield 3 handles lag / low bandwidth.
Most other online games are still somewhat playable when my room-mate starts inconsiderately streaming Netflix.
Battlefield 3, however, immediately shits itself and adopts the mannerisms of an infant having a seizure.
