You unlock the starter guns for the other side as the last unlock for each class. You keep that guns unlocks across teams too, but the unlocks don't carry across to the other teams starter gun.

I unlocked the m4 or whatever for the RU pretty early, It has the same attachments as the US side but is burst fire. Pretty strange.

AK74 and M4 are my favourite engineer guns. I probably like AK more because of it's slower fire rate.
is that just me or the map in the hud looks like someone made random edges on a low res pic, then made it 10x larger and low-quality vectorized it? For example, some of the edges are nice and clean, but edges at a 45 degrees angle are fucked up

Top 3 using my new M40B, finally unlocked straight pull bolt, ace squad, etc. I pretty much always land the first shot in the head if you are standing still with this thing. Two to three shots (with chance of headshot) in any other predictable situation (i.e. sprinting in a direction). I have a field day with this gun if a large portion of the enemy team is sniping - as far as I am concerned, I am the ultimate countersniper with this puppy. Especially with my supression spec. It's just so easy to hit that juicy head when they are laying down still and being a really good target.
I'm actually somewhat decent with it up close with the x12 scope too, though usually I'll just pull out my G17. It's hard to resist just parking in a spot with a sniper but you'll live much longer if you play sniper like you should play with the helicopter. AKA hit and run. Take your kills, move, and take more kills. Use MAV to scout and provide support at base caps. If in wandering are close to a basecap then go in for it.

IMO it's extremely functionally useful so I'd take it anyday over a cluttered sat map
