I can't hit fucking anything with the machine gun. I can barely lock up with the heatseakers, and even when I do, they just use flares. Fuck this buggy game.

I personally don't have the M98B unlocked, but I have my attachments set up as so:
Semi-auto: Holographic / IR scopes, use as semi-auto rifles (I love my SKS)
SV98: Medium range (4x scope, sometimes 8x)
M40A5: Take the scope completely off, use as a bolt-action rifle (risky, but fucking worth it) - I prefer doing this on this rifle because it's got a very direct re-bolting animation (especially as I don't have straight bolt unlocked yet) which helps me stay focused
L96: Long / medium-range (ballistic / 8x) sniping with a tripod (don't use this too much)
When I get the M98B, I'll use that as my primary long-range sniper (although I hate sitting on rocks and playing the point-and-click adventure game) and relegate the L96 to medium-range and the SV98 to medium-short 4x.

ya it had been a while since i played, hopped onto a server and i was being spawn camped on Caspian by a hacker who was just standing a rock with a pistol out and headshotting everyone who spawned with a M98B
whole reason i've barely touched the game is because i encounter way too many hackers
Dice apparently took care of a lot of them this week according to BF3's Facebook. I've quit out of a lot of matches due to hackers ruining the fun, moreso than most games I've played in the past with the exception of CULLDOODIE.
Anyone have a favorite server in particular?

Best thing you can do is get some proof like a screenshot or video, then report it.

Better how? I prefer the M98B personally, but the M40A5 has more rounds.
If you're a good sniper, the m40 would be better since it's always one hit kill with headshots.
Finally caved in and bought this yesterday, I've been playing the singleplayer but it's crashed at least ten times now and I'm just halfway through. Google is only giving me spam sites and bullshit 'fixes', any help?

I haven't tried the mp yet because I'm a sucker for storylines, but fuck's sakes it just crashed again after sitting in a tank gun for 3 minutes defending myself from waves of iraqis, can't handle this shit much longer
Can anyone explain why I'm getting insane frame stutter in MP sometimes? I was just playing on some desert map (don't know the name, had a warehouse and offices as objectives) and I'm running buttery smooth while just running around but it seems when enemies get close I get some slowdown. I thought it was because I had Firefox open up to Battlelog but even after closing it I still get it. Even looking up to the sky (to shoot down an enemy heli or plane) would cause it sometimes.
I'm running a Phenom II X4, GTX 570, and 4 gigs of RAM and the whole singleplayer ran great at the same settings but something about MP is fucking me over, maybe it's the 64 players?

I was able to run the game on Ultra but then suddenly I couldn't so now I have to play on medium/high.
I'm using two 6870s too.
Performance has really been hit and miss for me.
