IMO Valve should expand the kinda 'dark future' concept they had originally in HL2 before it got leaked. Also, the Combine would probably use a part of the wastes for industrial factories and the like. I would love if Alyx and Gordon would have to sabotage some kind of factory on their way to the Borealis and Mossman

That said however, he still has a body albeit not having any sort of character development whatsoever. Yet Valve are at least making elements of both expansions canon, because Blue Shift is about B. Calhoun's escape from Black Mesa (And doesn't feature the Race X aliens, so we can assume that pretty much it's entirety is canon) and he appears in HL2. And Gabe has stated that due to fan pressure they wish to do something with Cpl. Shepherd at some point, if not after Episode 3. Which would make his little inter-universal jaunts canonical.

When you have the first cutscene with the Gman, he talks about they did'nt want alyx cause she was a mere child, i've learned to neglect such naysayers. Not exactly, that could just have been an old, or possibly new broadcast from Breen to the Combines.

When he is talking to gordon after gordon was captured and brought to breens office, he mentions that 'His contract was open to the highest bidder', and he had 'proven himself a fine pawn for those that control him'.

Oh right. I was so busy studying Gman I never even noticed Breen in the picture. Yeah, they're both there.

It's a texture reused from Water Hazard. It means nothing.

I think that the new major gameplay mechanic will be the helicopter. Just imagine flying around fighting gunships and shooting down combine on the ground. I don't know why everyone thinks that the helicopter will crash, Valve isn't that lame.

It ensures that anyone with you and Alyx gets killed, takes away your weapons so the typical weapon progression/balancing can happen, lets you know that there is immediate danger, pads out the game as you now have to travel on-foot to whatever the first objective is, Probably more stuff i'm not thinking about. That helicopter is going [i]down[/i].
