Honestly I hated DoD: S. As has everyone I know who has bought it. I'd be reasonably content if all they changed was the recoil.
I don't know about you but DOD:S is my favorite Source game
Honestly I hated DoD: S. As has everyone I know who has bought it. I'd be reasonably content if all they changed was the recoil.
I hated DoD:S, but not because of the recoil. It just was missing something to make it fun for me.
I hated DoD:S, but not because of the recoil. It just was missing something to make it fun for me.
I don't think DoD:S is fun with regular gameplay. My brother and I used to play DoD:S all day erryday, and it was 50% pwning with snipers on mario_air, and 50% pwning noobs in a few warcraft mod servers. We easily logged over 3000 hours into that game together.
I hated DoD:S, but not because of the recoil. It just was missing something to make it fun for me.
I hated how it played in general but the recoil isn't even realistic. It's like playing as someone with parkinsons.
It's like playing as someone with parkinsons.
I'm pretty sure it's the case of a guy with parkinsons coming round the corner, waving a BAR around like a madman on full auto and still managing to hit you from the other side of the square.
I take it you've never shot a rifle.
Why do people say this? Recoil where the gun moves itself upward continuously is not realistic at all because in real life you can compensate every time it fires. From a gameplay standpoint, it's just annoying.

If you want a realistic gunfight go rob a bank or something.
You asked if he had shot a rifle before, implying that this recoil is somehow realistic. I said that you were wrong.
I think the main issue with games today in regards to the fact that controlling automatic weapons with recoil is the fact that they don't take muscle retention into consideration. When a weapon is fired, most people think that calibre is what causes the recoil to be so massive. While this is a major contributing factor, the most prominent part of recoil is how the gases of the explosion are dealt with. The simple fact is that in newer games such as CoD and ARMAS, this is realized.
HHHHNGH, it feels so close, but it is properly so fucking far away and its killing me!
I take it you've never shot a rifle.
Okay so with your infinite gun experience, if you aimed at someone's foot and shot once would it recoil up towards their head? That's not realism it's plain retarded.
No, it's not, what is though is a shot of this: and this but back on the riffle thing, what game do you shoot the foot that it recoils back up to the target's head? I haven't ever even seen that happen in GTA4. Usually the person is hit, loses health, and that's that, I also never saw this in COD, MGS, the list goes on, but realistically, in terms of other sci-fi games, one sniper riffle shot to a Death Claw should kill it, not you have to shoot multiple times. If games went for realism, then I think Alyx would of been dead already in the first HL2. You don't get shot in the foot, and not get slown down.
What the hell did I just watch?

@Marcolade: Oh, you actually watched it, well; thanks, I guess. What that was, is my anger at Valve for releasing other games instead of giving the Half-Life series right of way, they should expect more stuff like that. I mean come on, release a sequel to a non-Valve game, AND before HL? At least Portal 2 is acceptable because it's in the same universe, but nothing they can do can get me to buy DOTA 2. @Quark: I don't think they were even referencing a Valve game. The only Valve riffle ammo I know of that can shoot to the ground, then bounce up and headshot someone is the AR2 energy balls, or whatever their called, the alternate rounds.
lol
Which is why it could do with an update/new game.
They need to do a 2 month long, weekly updating spree for it, getting community feedback at every corner to help tweak the game and make it more fun for a larger audience, without trying to change the core gameplay aspects too much. It'd really get people playing the game at least during those 2 months, because things would be getting better each week. By the end of it, the playerbase would've increased a sizable amount.
All in all, eleven games that changed the world (and one that didn't). With over 14 million units sold, this group of titles is densely packed with gaming value and long-lasting fun.
What game didn't change the world and what is RnL?
What game didn't change the world and what is RnL?
It's either Deathmatch Classic or Day of Defeat. I think RnL is Resistance and Liberation.
It's either Deathmatch Classic or Day of Defeat. I think RnL is Resistance and Liberation.
Could it perhaps be Ricochet?
Could it perhaps be Ricochet?
The most world changing of them all?
Guys wouldn't it be cool if EP 3 was in someone's else perspective like Barney's, Kliener's or Odessa's? [editline]19th August 2011[/editline] Then HL3 would be a full-lenght SP campaing with Gordon Freeman
