Isn't it about time Gametrailers pulled this again?
It would be nice of Valve to at least release a teaser trailer so we know its alive and worked on.
With no trailers we cant figure if they are working on it at all

That wouldn't work, considering cardboard boxes are impervious to rockets as well.

I was thinking last night how evil it would be if they just randomly released EP3 on Steam without any warning LOL
I was thinking last night how evil it would be if they just randomly released EP3 on Steam without any warning LOL
In comparison to having absolutely nothing at this precise moment for the past 3-4 years. Who cares if it comes at you with no warning, why wouldn't you grab it? What is evil though is making others wait, like coming out to one nation first, but not coming to another for more then 1 week.
Valve never said that directly. I don't think valve wants to make more half-life. They want to focus on other projects. I think that is part of the reason why EP3 is taking so long. Yes, valve works with different teams and stuff, but I think all those teams are focussing on other things right now. They've announced 2 new games and they still have to offer support for a lot of other games (DLC for portal, updates for TF2...).
And second of all, I don't think I want another half-life. The series is taking too long now. It is a great game series (I've played HL1 and 2 over and over years ago), but it should end some day. Otherwise, you'll get the whole Call of Duty-effect.
Are you kidding me? You want the series to end with [sp]eli dying?[/sp]

I will not give up hope. I must...resist...
It's funny. When I think about Episode 3, the only thing that pops into my mind is the joyous shitstorm that will come when VALVe announces it.
Finally found the picture that made me draw those pics

Never gets old, I love this comic. Its too bad he never did Episode 1 and Episode 2.

you made me reread half of the comic. It was so good compared to today's GMod comics... and it was done with GMod 9!

I don't think that's a very fair comparison, but I can see your point. Fighting combine mooks, antlions and zombies, even if broken up by the occasional puzzles, is only entertaining for so long, even with the occasional additions and variations. However, I think every episode just had the right length to keep you entertained with what they had and didn't outstay its welcome; and the level design is good enough to allow for many different scenarios while using the same enemies and props.
But I don't think Half-Life would go down the CoD drain. It has a pretty strong narrative and every title holds ground for more wild speculation and expands the universe. Heck, with the Combine colonies, you can theoretically enter an unlimited number of different worlds with totally different people and scenarios. So I think there's lots of stuff Valve can do.
I agree however that Half-Life shouldn't just go on and on, because if you keep changing stuff to keep each installment interesting, at some point you'll end up with a completely different game, and then it's better to just create a new game entirely.
I think they have a rough idea of where their story is heading and how it'll end tho, and personally I'm not tired of HL yet.

Well Alien Swarn was released like that
"HEY GUYS we made a new game also it's free and it'll be downloadable tomorrow, thanks bye"
It just came out of nowhere

But then again, Alien Swarm isn't Half-Life
I was at Gamestop the other day and I asked when Ep3 was going to be released. They said they were told that it is coming soon but there is no fixed release date. I am so hyped now.
