What makes you think that? According to EP2 commentary and interviews of the time, EP3 is in development since 2006. Half-Life 2 was a massive leap and it was made from scratch during '98-'04 (6 years). EP3 is already 5 years in development and it will not come out this year. I'm not talking about some "Source 2" because we are already playing source 4 or something (OB and L4D had some pretty big improvements and other companies like Crytek would call it source 2 and 3)
He's not talking about graphics or how massive the game itself will be but about the plot and its continuation from HL2's, so it doesn't start a whole new story. And the version before Portal 2's engine is numbered 17.
Main character dying is cliched to Canada and back already. People use it as a cheap ass excuse for dramatic ending.
It's 3 years old.
How about you take a seat right over there.
Main character dying is cliched to Canada and back already. People use it as a cheap ass excuse for dramatic ending.
Real dramatic ending would be destruction of everything, EXCEPT Gordon who would eb kidnapped by Gman again.
omg HL3 preview. kidding.
omg HL3 preview. kidding.
It totally wasn't obvious by the bad quality music and the lame windows movie maker text effects
I hope there's some deserted lab or something that we get to explore. Be a good place to put Itchyosaurs, considering the other water in the Arctic area is, you know, frozen.
I hope this time, the game will start in something else rather than a train Except EP1 Edit: What about a frozen Garg blocking the way? And Gordon must unfreeze it to move on?
How about the game starts in Gordon's consciousness, before he wakes up? Like, you get to see how his guilt and stuff are affecting him.
Goddamn, another one of those kids that thinks it's necessary to spam the beginning up with useless WMM crap before he finally gets to the "real" stuff at like 1:10 in a 1:30 video.
omg HL3 preview. kidding.
I've always wondered what the source is on that "Half-Life 3" picture. Cause it looks almost too good to be anything in game right now, but not real enough to be, well...real.

It looks like Half-Life + Deus Ex.
I just had a thought. I reckon we should have people surveying all of the Valve employees Steam pages and see if any of them are playing Episode 3. They've got to slip up some time, dammit!

We said that we want Gordon, and we got him... Edit : What the fuck, I didn't mean in EP3, but in that game... I said that they were trolling. Think twice, before you rate.
Gordon Freeman... in a Sega game? Never thought I would see the day
Hopefully the HL2 buggy will handle better in that game than it did in Ep2.

You wouldn't believe how angry that made me. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] I love how they even show a picture of him driving over Antlions with it, like they themselves think that's the car from HL2 and not the muscle car.
Well, I guess we don't need EP3 any more, then.
Regardless, I don't see how either the Buggy or the muscle car would of worked in Episode Three anyway. I thought Episode Three would of had a snowmobile, reusing the jetski model Valve made earlier for the first HL2, except that was obsolete due to the air boat. http://source.valvesoftware.com/images/pic_so_ov_01.jpg I thought this is what HL was about. (does anyone remember who that dude is that's on fire?)

I just had an awesome idea for a source mod that I might have a go at making some time, add it to my list of things to do after watching a video reminding me how awesome White Forest is. Essentially the idea is that you cross over Half-Life 2 Deathmatch with Dota on an open map in the style of White Forest. One team is Combine, one team is Rebels, and like in Dota there are NPCs which spawn from each base in waves and go into lanes. It's a rough idea but I think it could be an awesome one if implemented. I shall start browsing the Source 2007 solution pretending I know C++ and where on earth to start.

(Valve messed up npcs in HL2DM) Map should have TDM setting + NPCs. Also this would need really good goal for opposed teams to reach. UT-style core destruction maybe?
