I don't think HL3 is around the corner, but they could capture him during EP3, à la HL1
I think Chell being in stasis for an undisclosed amount of time was purposely done to seperate the two games.
Since Gabe had mentioned some part of a crossover at some point.
Also I want news on this deaf character.
I'd appreciate if HL3 had parts of all the previous Half-Life games. A huge lab, a Combine-overrun city, the ruins of said city and then some countryside. Maybe going through C17's ruins to head to some other destination where you'd face yet another terrain. Maybe a lot of vertical stuff, would make interesting gameplay, assuming the NPC AI would involve climbing and so forth.
Basically,
White Forest>C17's ruins>intact C17>blown up Nova Prospekt>actual forests
'cause when I played Episode Two recently, I realized there wasn't that shady, foggy forest scenery that was in the cover art. I would've enjoyed that Silent Hill type of feeling, where you hear the Hunters roaming around you but you can't see them until they're close enough to gut you. The goal would not to get lost in the maze and get through alive while keeping Alyx alive.
I think it would've been great. But instead we traveled between the forest areas, never inside one. I really was disappointed by that and would like to see that in HL3.

Episode Three is when no one cares about waiting for episode three, because we'll not get news until
three or four years down the track.
Episode 3 will be Gabes death.
