I don't think he would be happy knowing I'm posting conversations, but I assure you if you just go into Valve steam group and add a bunch of random developers, many of them will accept your request and chat with you from time to time. They are (awesome and funny) people too, not some Gods that do not wish to talk with mortals. They are also sad. One told me he can't experience the joy of gifts because their steam accounts automatically own every single game.
Valve World Problems.
Could mean something though.
Existence of shirt confirmed, world is vocal with general approval for shirts. Shirtless continue to insist that shirts do not exist. Half-Life Episode Shirt
So finally we have another piece of evidence that it exists, this is the third piece of physical evidence we have, not counting stuff found in game
Sorry, I haven't kept up with this thread in a while. What are the other things?
I don't care if the shirt is real or not, but the first thing I thought about when I saw it was its ugliness.
Valve knows they have a super loyal fan base so they decided to get some laughs and fuck with our minds, one easter egg and Head-crab hat at a time :v:
They wanted to laugh about how we try to find something where it isn't but when official valve employee has a straight up half life 3 shirt right in your fucking face we would think it's nothing important :v:
I love how we don't even know which Valve employee it is. It could be the janitor for all we know.
I think the '3' and the lambda symbol supposed to be switched places, atleast that's how the hl2 logo looked.
Anyone remember this? :v:
I love how we don't even know which Valve employee it is. It could be the janitor for all we know.
"Hey, give the janitor some T-shirts from the scrapped project. He looks like he could use them, and we certainly don't any more." Hopefully I'm wrong here.
I really hope we do get some new EP3 news soon. The main thing that makes me doubt the shirt, is the orange colour. It seems too bright, but that could just be the lighting.
I'm not getting my hopes up. I've learned from past experiences.
You know the community's given up hope when there aren't 354 posts in two days anymore when something like this happens
You know the community's given up hope when there aren't 354 posts in two days anymore when something like this happens
i think its because we all learned the hard way to not get excited until we get info From Valve not someone who saw someone who "worked at valve"
So why is this interesting, exactly? We know for a fact Valve is working on Episode 3, it's not unheard of that devs that work on xxx wear xxx-game t-shirts.
We know for a fact Valve is working on Episode 3? Since when? Last I remember, they've never even said "Episode 3" before.
We know for a fact Valve is working on Episode 3? Since when? Last I remember, they've never even said "Episode 3" before.
We've seen several things in Portal 2/Dota 2 files named ep3_****, and several quotes saying they are not done with Half-Life yet, and we have to hang in there with them. This means they are working on it. Nobody knows at what stage of development they are though. At minimum there should be a story written down somewhere. Going off the files from P2/Dota 2, it means an Episode 3 repository exists, which could point to them actually doing (or having done) engine/game work.
I really don't expect to hear anything about EP3 in 2012. It'll propably be just as quiet as the previous years.
So why is this interesting, exactly? We know for a fact Valve is working on Episode 3, it's not unheard of that devs that work on xxx wear xxx-game t-shirts.
Because we've literally heard nothing about this game at all. Valve has been super tight lipped about Ep.3 to the extent of not even confirming it's existence. Seeing a dev wearing this shirt might mean that they're finally ready to talk about it.
I really don't expect to hear anything about EP3 in 2012. Which sucks because it will ruin the classic Half-Life feeling to have it be a clunky/sluggish consolized port

I'm not sure if I can live with getting into 2012 whilst still knowing nothing about Episode 3. :(
Which sucks because it will ruin the classic Half-Life feeling to have it be a clunky/sluggish consolized port
oh my god why do people think like this
oh my god why do people think like this
Because they feel aspects of L4D2, Portal 2, and CS:GO were tweaked specifically with console players in mind that "ruined" the PC experience.
lol
And oh how much they love trumpeting that in every one of their posts about Valve.
It would be deliciously ironic if this WAS in fact the beginning of the PR for this game, and everyone ignores it because they think it's a fake.
I really don't even care if this comes out anymore or not for the actual game itself but I hope it's out soon due to the fact every day for the past few years Dad has been "YO WHEN THE HELL IS EPISODE 3 COMING OUT"

And even then, it's going the way of DNF ie: the longer it stays in development the more people come to expect from it to the point where it's unrealistic.
It would be deliciously ironic if this WAS in fact the beginning of the PR for this game, and everyone ignores it because they think it's a fake.
It would be a great contrast to the previous ARGs if they just gave a ton of really fake looking clues to screw with the skeptics. :v:
