i must always laugh very hard when i see this kind off thread's about ep3 on different forums.
there will be no ep3 comming from valve. why in the hell you want to do that as company when you earn more on steam then on youre old games.
valve have missed the market by staying to much to the pc player and their old engine, and this engine will not keep up whats in the field now. when asking to youg guys about valve games, they dont know them . they play mm3/bf3 and so on. but hl2/tf2/portal haahha what the hell is that they say.
the hl2 games are for the history not the future.

They get that sort of information from the same place we do for the most part.
My idea still works, unless i got the release dates wrong.
Left for dead was the latest game (2008) - So we got L4D2
Before that Portal was released (2007) - So we got Portal 2
Before that TF2 (2007) - So they made TF2 free
Before that was CSS (2005) So they are making CS:GO
Next will be a DoD game/update. (2005)
Then we will get HL3/EP3. (Hl2 was 2004)

I think if Episode 3 is announced at some big expo, the audience (us half-life fans) will freak out and destroy everything and be inadequate which will actually be a lot of fun. And jizz everywhere. Let's not forget that.

DoD was not as successful as the rest of their games IMO, so I think they won't even bother making another one. And if they did, they probably will release it as a pack, like the orange box, including EP3 hopefully. The only real threat to Half-Life would be a completely new game.

Ha, like they focused that much on the consoles. There's lots of people who played ep2, and you can bet your ass that everyone who bought ep2 WILL buy ep3, not just the 'Hardcore fans'.
