About ending gordons saga?
Possibly no.
But they did say that they'd end the Combine saga. (Half-Life 1 - Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is the combine saga. Yeah, sure, in HL1 you don't find any combine soldiers, but they're there. Nihallianth*, the Vorts, even the headcrabs)

Forget about Freeman!
Every time I see that picture I cum. The atmos and map design looks so great :D
Also I changed my mind, I am definitely playing through Half-Life 1 > Episode Three when this comes out.
um, it makes you cum?
Gordon also appeared in Blue Shift and OF. Making about as much proof as in Barney is. They're ALL for us to control. Some must seem more real than the others.
I remember playing HL1 then OF then Blue shift, and in all of them, I saw things from the other games at a different perspective.
For instance: at the start of HL1 your on the tram thing... now theres a part where a security guy cant get into a door, he is holding a torch also.. in blue shift, you are that guy and you see gordon go by on the tram.
They said after HL2:EP3, gordons "saga" was over...
Didn't they say something about ending the hl2 story-arc, and starting a new one?
I don't think they'll drop Gordon.
[editline]04:40PM[/editline]
And I would like a OP4 expansion based around the hl2 story-arc, where you play as a combine (because the military isn't Gordon's enemy any longer, the combine is.) Maybe something where Shepard turns into a combine soldier, in order to please all the Shepard fan-boys.
They said after HL2:EP3, gordons "saga" was over...
People have been saying that for a couple of years now, and yet I've never found any shred of evidence to suggest Valve ever actually said it.

That guard holds a flashlight, and that guards name is Barney
id like some aliens from hl1 such as the houndeye and alien grunt
Gordon's a motherfucking badass.
But I think it's good Valve will end his adventures with episode 3, then maybe continue in someone else perspective or something.
like alyx

yeah, if the combine saga ended in ep 2 the next one would be called half life 3, but the combine are still there at the end of hl2 ep 2 so the next is hl2 ep 3

That would suck because you'd just shoot some defenseless citizens for an hour which is no challenge at all, and then be killed instantly when Gordon or Alyx or Dog or Barney shows up.

Advisor have AI in ep2!
Well atleast small part of his ai - stuff tosing, don't sue the advisor for this vid - its just part of the code that was in ep2.

In the npc_advisor_shared.h i found this

// which we did in Ep2 to make him a scripted creature.
Gordon will be in all of the Half-Life games.
He's the Goddamn Free man.
He should at least make some kind of appearance in the next games.
Like in a church being used to hold up in would have the Freeman stained glass thing.
I wonder if they will reintroduce the itchyosaur or the crab synth.
Well guys, looks like it's not coming out anytime soon if you haven't figured it out already, here's an interview that came out yesterday with Doug:
Valve's Doug Lombardi says that the company decided to make Left 4 Dead 2 rather than Half-Life 2 because, among other reasons, it's actually simpler to develop.
What makes Left 4 Dead 2 an easier task, Lombardi told G4TV (via Blue's News), is the A.I. Director:
You had the A.I. director, which allowed us to start building sets and get gameplay up and running really, really quickly. In a game like Half-Life, every moment, every gesture Alyx makes, every facial expression she gives you, is pretty much handcrafted, and that's just a lot of hand-stitching. So for us to be able to put out… I mean, we tried [Half-life 2] with episodes, we said we were gong to go smaller, and we were going to get quicker, and we got a little bit quicker, but we didn't get that much quicker. And it was because of that, you know, that hand-stitching of that single-player experience where you have to go through and script every dramatic moment, script every time Alyx is going to turn and look at you like this and what have you. And with Left 4 Dead 2, with the AI Director, a lot of that is handed over to the controls, and then you can say, 'Okay, we can just start building new content now, checking it in and start play-testing immediately'."
Lombardi also said that the team was very passionate about the sequel and had a lot of concrete ideas on how to improve on the original formula, in no small part due to community feedback. As a result, L4D2 will hit stores on November 17th, a mere year after the original's release. Other companies have managed such a feat before but it's quite a leap forward for Valve.
There was no other mention of Half-Life 2: Episode Three in the interview. You'd assume they'd tackle that after L4D2 but you wonder if they'll consider Left 4 Dead 3 an easier, funner project as well.
Looks like L4D2 will come out this year, then maybe L4D3 next year, but maybe Valve is giving up on Half Life completely?
Player goes to Borealis on Gabes pirate ship.

L4D3 is a joke of the writer.. they'll work on Ep3 and Portal 2 after L4D2 (and maybe something else)

Grrrrrr.....
I just had a thought. What if valve made ep3 more realistic. I know it sounds stupid since its a sci fi game but still.
Like in hl2, you start off with the crowbar then eventually pistol then smg....and you gradually get better weapons. But after you got the pulse rifle or something did you ever voluntarily switched back to the smg?
I know some did but that's not my point. But anyway what if valve implemented an inventory in the sense that, you can only carry a few weapons? Like a slot system. Melee pistol rifle special grenade?
I don't want it nor do i want it. It was a thought i had.

Ep3 spoiler maybe?
In Half-life 1 there are 2 chapters named: Surface -Tension- and -Apprehension-. It could be hinting at something about black mesa in ep3. Who knows...?
OH!
The Combine Race gives up on taking over Alyx and decides to return to there homeworld. But just before they leave they kidnap Alyx Vance and Kliener so you and Barney have to fight to get out of earth and follow them then Have like a awesome boss fight. Then Continue on there planet and slowly destroy there Life Support and Resources and then Defeat the combine but first a giant boss ending battle with the worlds biggest Advisor.
I rest my case.
I want to see some new fucking weapons, new animations, new character models, updated textures and Lamar.
And for the love of god A BOSS FIGHT!
Who needs a boss fight when theres plenty of 1k hp combine advisors about?
Also seeing as this is my first post, I'll say, I bet they don't plan to release it, they'll complete it, and then wait about a week, see if it leaks out, if not BAM. Half life 2 Episode 3 Available on steam Now!

That would mean dissension is next line!
*googles dissension*
I want to see alyx die a horrible death.
