According to spitfire on SPUF, Half Life Ep 3 will be revealed 30th of February.
They are just covering each others backs, considering the recent thing about Gabe giving hints was fake.

I'm patient enough, I'll live for 40 years if not more, Half-Life 3 will be released within about 5 years.
What the fuck is the rage about? You're not going to die before it. Sure, you might lose a little hype but that's because you're an impulsive and impatient bitch. Let Valve work on the game, my guess is that they're internally under a lot of pressure, thinking how to make the final Gordon game live up to the expectations.
I trust Valve's HL team to get the job done. If you're a real fan, you should have the same kind of trust as well. My only gripe is that Kelly Bailey left Valve, the music was one integral part of Half-Life. I hope they can re-hire him for HL3.

I doubt they'll get Bailey back for HL3. However, Morasky is a good composer. He may not quite be Bailey but I'm sure his music will fit the new installment like a glove and compliment the series' soundtrack as a whole quite nicely.
In my opinion, Morasky is much better than Bailey.

I damn hope so. It's not that I don't like Morasky, it's just that Bailey would be the perfect fit. Morasky might get a doable soundtrack, but I'm not sure how his style will fit Half-Life. Sure, he's done stuff for Portal and IIRC L4D, but Half-Life's music style is completely different, at least it has been so far. Here's for Kelly Bailey's successful streak of god tier music!
I love just about everything he's ever composed. Industrial, ambience...They're all great. Can't say anything else about them. Love 'em.

Going by what was said by Leveraged, Gabe didn't give the orders, and that it was assumed by the informant guy. It is true that someone at Valve gave the go ahead for hint dropping though. My guess is Doug considering how he's the one who handles marketing.

It's just a simple reference to another Valve game, don't get hyped up.
While Kelly Bailey made some INCREDIBLE music, and it would be great to see what he could do with modern day tools, I think Mike Morasky can live up to him and possibly even out do him. He's a very great composer, Portal 2's ost was epic, I really loved it. Hopefully he can pull off the Half-Life feel.

I wish I had the same kind of attitude about Mike as you do. Don't know why, his music just hasn't griped me as much as Bailey. He's great as well, but I'd still like to see Kelly come back and do some of the sound work. Hell, even better, get Bailey & Morasky to work together. That'd surely make something magical.

Yeah it would, but sadly, I think Bailey's finished with Valve. Maybe even video games all together.
If valve wants good music, they get the best of the best to do it, nothing is left incomplete or crap, we've known that since Half Life 2 (and possibly hl1)
let's hope for new clues in the next picture that will be published in few moments.
If Valve announces or just says anything about EP3 on the 3rd of January, that would be one of the best 18th birthday present ever.
