Nope, the informant didn't know he was wrong on the Gabe part when I asked him to clarify if it was Gabe doing the green lighting. I asked him to clarify the story and he did, THEN I informed him Gabe was denying it after that... Can't prove this of course, but that's how it went down.

You're 100% right, and that's not what's going on here. Valve wouldn't be so dumb. What is more plausible is that there's a leak of info from a single Valve dev, and that's all I've ever claimed.

Valve needs time. HL1 was named the best. Then HL2 was named the best. With all these new games coming out, valve's trying to create something that will earn its place among the HL series, something that will be named the best. It's gonna take time, but during each month spent on HL2 ep3 will mean that a game might come out and it means that HL2 ep3'll have to be made better because of it.
