Yeah, i don't know why but it seems they've been done really quickly, so it might be an introduction to an Arg.
It isn't.
ARGs start with a clear pattern, a message. Something that can lead people in a certain direction. All this tells us is that, yes, Lambdas are a thing that exist.

I noticed that in terms of order of release, after every single Counter Strike game (given, there were only 2) there was a Half Life game released right after, and if there is any sort of pattern...perhaps...that could mean that after CS:GO is released, Hl3/ep3 will be released.

And honestly, would anyone be surprised? The fact that Valve has never gone over a sequel with any of their games would imply that they will NOT make a 3rd of any game, at least not until they do that with Half Life 3, and its less likely they'll start up a whole new game series, but I suppose anything is possible.

Hey, makes sense.
Come to think of it, when would Valve best release Ep3? Now, the only ongoing projects in developement are Hl3, Dota 2 and Cs:Go. And since they want for those to products to sell, there would be no point taking all the attention from them to Hl3. Instead it would prove effective two release them two first, and only then Hl3, since hl3 already has a fuckload of people GUARANTEEd to buy it on sight.
