Lamarr probably got out of the rocket before it launched. A lot happened between Lamarr going in and the rocket actually launching. And Lamarr's always crawling around everywhere, so it's not likely he would be in the same spot later when it did launch.

Pretty sure there was a "payload anomaly" referring to Lamarr. Kleiner said that it didn't matter and then the rocket got launched about 30 seconds later. Lamarr is dead.
Kleiner might de-beak another headcrab and give it another pet name, however.

Everyone has been talking about zombie vortigaunts, but what about combine converted vortigaunts? I think that would make a lot of sense and would be a sad thing to see.

i do agree that at some point in the game gordon and co. will visit the borealis, But why does everyone assume that is the first place we will go?
1) last we saw, gordon and alyx were hanging from a wall at the mercy of two advisors. Do we really think they are going to just drop them and let them go?
2)the two advisors [im going to guess] came as a response to the portal, the entire combine armada is probubly on their coat tails.
3) to my knowlage alyx isnt anymore different than anyother girl so i dont expect she is going to just forget her fathers death and hop in a helicopter and leave.
i do expect us to go to the borealis, just not first.

Dog scared them away at the end, the game ends with you lying down look at Alyx mourning over her dad.
due to that fact, I think that Ep.3/HL3 will be started with Gordon using the copter alone because Alyx will be mourning, and he'll have to find the advisor that killed eli either out of necessity (Eli knew everyting bout resistance) slash VENGEANCE as a request from Alyx. hmmm, that being said, Alyx might come with so she can kill the Adviser herself... anyway, they'll be EVENTUALLY moving to the Borealis either alone or with the first massive mobilization of the Resistance military and after an extremely convoluted trip (as they always are) they will capture the Borealis and all its delicious Aperture Science tech, and open a death portal from Xen to the nearest Universal Union province (universe) and Humanity will have to deal with the remaining U.U. Overwatch on Earth. [end_prediction]
