The portal 2 ARG has hinted about a supposed "Icebreaker" so I think Valve is going to ninja a EP3 announcement when it ends
The Borealis is in Portal 2, but it's an easter egg. I'm not sure how to get to it, but it's in there. There's an achievement for it and everything. I don't think anything else HL2:E3 relevant happens though.

What confuses me is how they say Portal and Half-life are not connected. Wasn't Aperature a competitor to Black Mesa, and isn't the Borealis the ship that's housing portal technology from Aperature, or am I getting the wrong ship here?
They take place in the same universe, but the stories are not connected. You won't meet Chell, or Glados in Half-Life.

I'm pretty sure they meant that Portal 2 and Half Life won't be [i]directly[/i] connected, as in we won't know the ending to Episode 3 in Portal 2.

I don't think I can conquer to either about Episode Four, cease to the fat jokes others but I don't make, or that people will be p-o'ed with the big V, because after Ep3, unless there actually is a HL3 direct jump already, there will be tension regarding the wait to the next HL adventure, for lets say between 2012 and 2020.

I don't really think VALVe is ever going to make it if they only keep making sequels.
I'm not saying they should make sequels, just try and work on more original concepts more.

Additionally, the deck plan of the Titanic has the rooms E19 and 12, it seems way to interconnected to just be a coincidence (knowing Valve and this whole ARG too)
