Yeah, I'm thinking more along the lines of DOTA 2 myself. Don't get me wrong, I want Episode 3 as badly as the next HL fanboy, but I've learned to not get hyped up about this sort of thing, because that just allows more room for me to get let down when it turns out to not be Episode 3.
It'll be done when it's done. Besides, if they are going to reveal Episode 3 this year, it will probably be at E3.
I'm 99% sure they're revealing DOTA 2 at this year's E3.
(revealing as in ingame and trailers and such)
DOTA 2 is minor project like Alien Swarm.
DOTA 2 is minor project like Alien Swarm.
with the size of dota's fanbase, I wouldn't say that
As much as I want Episode 3...
I have to agree with i_speel_good. Valve have let me down recently, and I've been waiting for Ep 3 since the release of Ep 2...
It seems as if they're sick of HL, and want to work on other things.
So yeah, I'm also pretty god damn sure that we won't see Ep 3 anytime soon. DOTA 2 is most likely next. I've learned to not get my hopes up about Valve releases.
You guys seem to have forgotten the interview with Gabe that happened about a year ago.

I'm sure everything will be just fine.
Who knows, might come with a co-op mode for alyx and freeman
I just pictured Freeman rolling around reppin' a gold-plated crowbar and aviator shades.
Am I the only one worried that Valve will mess up Episode 3? Valve's recent games have to much microtransaction stores and silly humor for my taste.
I just hope Episode 3 is a classic, dark, and subtle old-fashioned Valve game.
Portal 2 and TF2 have the store because there is customization. I have not seen much 'silly' humour. Nothing suggests they will ruin EP3.
By the way, they have to work on DOTA 2, then think about Counter Strike 2, then they will go onto Half-Life. Just sayin.
episode 3 will come with a store that you can use to customise your gordan freeman
Gordon Gordon Gordon, you played half-life 2, half-life 2 episode 1, half-life 2 episode 2 and you don't even know his name... I mean.. come on...

They have INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPER TEAMS for EVERY GAME.

I was just quoting Gabe Newell.

Maybe if it was a GoldSRC
Hey everyone, keep in mind that every Half-Life installment(except Blue Shift) came with a competitive multiplayer component:
Half Life - Half Life Deathmatch
Opposing Force - Opposing Force Capture The Flag
Half Life 2 - CSS followed by HL2DM
Episode One - HLDM:Source
Episode Two - TF2
That means Episode Three will probably COME WITH CS2.

That actually makes some sense.
Well, seeing the end of portal 2 maybe [sp]Eli will be transferred into a personality core like caroline did with glados[/sp]
Well, seeing the end of portal 2 maybe [sp]Eli will be transferred into a personality core like caroline did with glados[/sp]
But as far as everyone at White Forest knows, personality spheres don't exist.

besides he was stabbed through the brain i don't think you could implant a broken brain into a sphere

As far as everyone at White Forest knows, G-man doesn't either.

Eli knew.

And?
And?
White Forest crew-members don't know a lot of things. Doesn't mean a lone wolf might have some info. After all, two of Kleiner's colleagues had something to do with the Borealis. Who's to say they didn't leak info about Aperture's AI while they were there?

Um, no. What did it have to do with g-man again? Eli knew about g-man, nobody else did. Nobody knows about personality cores so they won't transfer his mind. I'm having a hard time seeing the special connection. Not only would it ruin the dramatic effect of Eli being dead, it wouldn't make any sense either since Eli's brain is borked, and it was something limited to Aperture Science.
And no, the scientists didn't have anything to do with borealis. The anomalous materials scientists in front of the Borealis is a case of Valve being lazy and copying two scientists from another picture they already had, into the Borealis picture, which was only going to be seen for 2 seconds (not even that long), so nobody would notice (unless they looked in the game files). They have nothing to do with Black Mesa.

Let's just hope the stab didn't actually kill him, but extracted information from his brain, and made him retarded.
are you serious
are you serious
Well they were using their tongues and they only stabbed people in a single place, I can't see a reason why they wouldn't use that to extract information from brains.
