You think thats a bad example? Why does HL keep getting touched by robo voices? Seriously though, about the sound in Episode Three, how do we know both the music and voice acting had not been done in advance? The other thing is I think Lamarr is stuck in space, unless she can pilot that rocket, and for some reason I imagine Valve doing an adventure that takes place in space, why would both HL2 and Portal 2 have characters headed up that way? BUT what if there is a space game after DOTA 2 but before Episode Three? To me, that would be like DAMN! Then again, I have to suspect the Borealis dock in Portal 2 has to indicate what is around the bend. I mean who does not see all the technical involved with Episode Three? In the arctic environment you got rapidly moving wavy water, stormy weather effects, waves will try to crash you into the ship's walls if your not careful where you step when they go over, not to mention dangerous icy surfaces along edges, having to dodge falling snow that breaks the ground in front of you, not to mention having to fight those telekinesis buggers. If anything, I see Episode Three on the same build as Portal 2, if not, a more advanced build.
A game starring Wheatley and Lamarr that takes place on the moon!? Did I read that right?
Well, I certainly did not mention the moon, I only said space (but I wonder why you did, unless you know something) But I guess I forgot that Lamarr's lifespan is no where close to Wheatley's, although I have to wonder what a headcrab does when it lands someplace else, the moon, or when an ai core is picked up by someone or something else out there.
It's like asking why is the sky blue and why is the grass green. It just is
But the combine drained all the water so the sky shouldn't be blue, and they killed all the grass so no more green. Your comment is invalid.
But the combine drained all the water so the sky shouldn't be blue, and they killed all the grass so no more green. Your comment is invalid.
Ridiculous claims aside, what would water have anything to do with the sky's colour?
Ridiculous claims aside, what would water have anything to do with the sky's colour?
the sky is blue because earths atmosphere is reflectant of the ocean, it was a joke that went way over everybody's head's.
the sky is blue because earths atmosphere is reflectant of the ocean, it was a joke that went way over everybody's head's.
It was kinda clear that it was a joke, just not a very good one. Partly because the oceans have nothing to do with the colour of the sky, which is a p dumb statement
Duuh isn't it the other way around, water is blue because it reflects the Ozone layer's pale blue's colour? Or am I missing something?
We're going to get hats in EP3.
Breen Co. Store.
You will fight the massive troll, the boss of the Combines.
I've got a feeling that Gabe is milking this as much as he can. Maybe it's all just a part of Valve's evil monopoly plan to release Episode 3 after years of undeserved hype?
combine civil protection beneficial supply store
And you can access it via this Buy a crowbar for only 30 dollars
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/1303586563797.jpg[/img_thumb] I believe this was from that new portal 2 documentary, or somthing? This scares the living bejesus oudda me.
I don't like this one bit not ooone bit[/Roddy Piper, They Live] I'm a singleplayer-guy and I think Half-life should remain a singleplayer experience.
I hope Episode 3 will be free of pre-rendered cutscenes, like Portal 2. What's great about HL is that you always control your point of view.
I hope Episode 3 will be free of pre-rendered cutscenes, like Portal 2. What's great about HL is that you always control your point of view.
There were several scenes in Portal 2 which took full control over your view, but I agree that that's one of the best things about the HL series.

Found this in the particle mainfest. http://lo-ping.org/2011/04/14/valve-hints-at-possible-half-life-3episode-3/ Edit: have also found sound files in au audio format, very odd file type...
I don't like this one bit not ooone bit[/Roddy Piper, They Live] I'm a singleplayer-guy and I think Half-life should remain a singleplayer experience.
I think they either mean last valve game in an isolated enviorment or it will come with a MP counterpart such as a new/heavily updated version of HL2:DM. Pretty much every major valve release had an MP game come shortly after. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
I hope Episode 3 will be free of pre-rendered cutscenes, like Portal 2. What's great about HL is that you always control your point of view.
HL2, EP1 and EP2 all had "Cutscenes," the Gman scenes, and the end of EP2 which you couldn't move your view, not exactly cutscenes since they are rendered ingame, but besides the ending video in portal 2, everything in portal 2 was rendered ingame. I don't see the problem with 1 or 2 parts where it's a video showing something or you can't move your view.
I don't think Gabe Newell won't release Episode 3 for a long time. I heard from him that he won't release it for a while and the reason why he said this is because he wants to do Episode 3 the proper and correct way. He doesn't want to make a video game that is rushed and forced quickly, he wants to make a video game that had pride and effort taken into it so that you all will be asking for more Half Life.
At this point, I don't think there's going to be an Episode 3. I think they're going to make a full-blown Half-Life 3.
At this point, I don't think there's going to be an Episode 3. I think they're going to make a full-blown Half-Life 3.
I really hope so. I will be so dissapointed after waiting this long for a game that has a length as short as episode 2
I don't think Ep3 is going to be at Antarctica or Acrtic, it's just going to be somewhere cold with heavy snow since the world has been changed by the combine..., and yes, there will be parts where we can see G-Man with full control of our view, of course, there also will be new enemies to fit the cold theme of the Episode. New HEV fucntion? Borealis filled with Combine? Fight with Advisors? But i know, at the end G-Man will shows up out of nowhere, stops the time flow and take Freeman on THAT train again, and wait for next missions (you can also think HL2 mods are Gordon's side missions)
So, 5 years left.
At this point I guess Valve will surprise us by making Gordon not go to the Antarctic immediately. Perhaps in some location cut from HL2.

I feel stupid for asking this, but is this real, he sounds kind of weird at the very last answer.
Half-Life 1 and 2 brought something new to graphics, something that HL3 can't bring, because it's not even exist. Tessellation? C'mon guys...
