I dont understand the people who say that the next half-life is "3". It wouldn't make any sense because there are already two episodes which directly continues where the other one left. That is if episode three starts with gman teleporting you to somewhere else and what else.
i have a feeling that Barney will die in HL2:EP3
If it is the last Half-Life universe game, AT LEAST Barney will die. Even if it's not the last HL game, I'm betting that Gordon will see his last day soon.

That's a good point, and I think you're probably right. EP3 will conclude with either GMan putting Gordon back in storage, or Gordon dying. Gordon is our tragic hero, and will NOT end up with a happy life, or even probably a long life.
HL:3 will begin either with Gordon being awakened at some point in the future with a job to do, or GMan will recruit a new operative and continue the story.
I hope Gordon dies, because I just don't want to wait for sequels anymore. And knowing Valve they'd make it a good death.

If you're gonna end a game series, you better do it sooner than later.
Just look at Call of Duty.
I think the best way to end Episode 3 would be Gordon having sex with Alyx, then just as he ejaculates the Gman flashes on the screen and says "I think you've earned your payment - Mr Freeman."
Then Valve leave it at that and make a new game series.

Yeah I remember a commentary saying that Half life 2 trilogy won't be the last with Gordon Freeman in it, maybe that last one with the combine, though.

Wrong.
It may be the last with Gordon Freeman with it. It sums up the story of Gordon.
But... Its not Half-Life without Gordon D:

No.
You don't get it; Half Life 1 was the arc of Black Mesa, HL2 and episodes was the arc of C17 and White Forest. HL3 will have a different setting, but same gordon
But... Its not Half-Life without Gordon D:
Tell that to Adrian Shepard or Barney.

This man should know, you guys.
In all seriousness, I trust Valve on making Episode 3 worth the wait. :v:

adrian isn't fucking part of half-life

even though he is canon valve will not use him. why would they
dont know how late i am but i saw this: http://borealis.tk/
pretty sure its fake
and dosnt E3 start in 37 days?
I actually would enjoy if they randomly released EP3. No pre-loading, going gold, announcement, anything. It just pops up on the Steam store for people to play without any knowledge of what they're about to experience.
That's an awful idea

Anything that ends with .tk is fake.

No, it's an awful idea, no trailers, no marketing, no feedback, no hype, it's a bad idea.
Anything that ends with .tk is fake.
Although for some reason every time I see a HL2EP3 logo in the correct font and formatting I get a weird sense of "goddamnit I can't wait for this game"
Anything that ends with .tk is fake.
That, and the fact that anyone who knows Valve would know that, if they were to have some kind of countdown, they would make it incredibly cryptic to hype it up more. They won't just go "Oh yeah the announcement to Episode 3 is coming in this many days guys and here's a stock photo of concept art we found on google images in five seconds for the background lol". Hell, knowing them, they'll probably start up another ARG to hype it up more.
Sad thing is that a lot of people are actually falling for this countdown. I really don't know why.
...That font is really nice, though.

Fake, but an impressive fake.
Buy 1000000 hats in TF2 and Portal 2 to get EP3!
I want to either see Chell or more of Aperture Science history in Episode 3.
I reckon the Borealis is a big teleporter that the Combine want so that they can transport some troops from the Combine homeworld. This is probably why it disappeared. It was accidentally set off.
I think that at the end of Episode 3 you accidentally set it off again and somehow end up on the Combine homeworld which will be some of the setting for Half Life 3. This sort of follows the theme that each story arc has a very different setting.
Half Life 1 - Black Mesa.
Half Life 2 - City 17 and the surrounding area.
Half Life 3 - Combine Homeworld and some other stuff
I doubt this will be the setting for the entire game, however, as the style may get repetitive. You will probably find a way back and do some stuff back on Earth.
Doubt it, though... I've never been right with these things.
The borealis is probably a ship that can go anywhere: through space, through time, or through the parallel dimension. Knowing Cave Johnson, the boat probably doesn't have a normal engine or rudder, because naval equipment of that caliber is expensive, folks! Gotta balance the budget after the shortfall caused by the moonrocks.
