Incorrect. Valve ALWAYS delays games.
they never delayed episode 3
I know Valve said "no new games at E3", but does Episode 3 really count as a "new game"?
we'll have to wait and see
wasn't valve on the list for E3 2010 with episode 3? ignore the red circle i was looking for any info on a new gta game, but under valve it says Half Life 2 episode 3
Uhh almost all of those games are obvious fakes
RustySpannerz;30118205']I think that Gordon and Alyx will have to board the helicopter quickly to run away and there will be tears, and it will be the most emotional scene in video game history. Then the helicopter will crash, and they'll have to be in the arctic. And it will be awesome.
You have basically almost exactly summed up that unofficial EP3 mappack.
we'll never fully know til E3, they could surprise us all by showing up secretly and showing it off. When is E3 anyway
June 7, I believe.
June 7, I believe.
BETTER GET THOSE PLANE TICKETS!
we'll never fully know til E3, they could surprise us all by showing up secretly and showing it off. When is E3 anyway
I doubt it. They wouldn't do that two years in a row. @meatpuppet, you can't delay something that hasn't been announced.
I doubt it. They wouldn't do that two years in a row. @meatpuppet, you can't delay something that hasn't been announced.
exactly that's why I said it's never been delayed...
June 7, I believe.
TOO FAR AWAY!!!! D:
You know, the perfect E3 for me would be STALKER 2 and Episode Three making some sort of partnership release. Kind of like with Ep2 and Lost, they add small references. The two games I anticipate more than any other coming at the same E3....one can only wish.
I think references are okay, the Lost reference was in a hidden room, but I don't think I feel the same way when the story gets so altered because of that, or a cross over. I barely remember on Lost the scene where those dudes were playing Half-Life 1, if not for that I don't know if we would of even seen the reference in Episode Two afterward. Not talking about the HL2 stalkers, but why would Valve have such an association to have that as a partnership release?

Just something small and nice, nothing gameplay breaking. Maybe they'd replace the USP Match in Hl2 with a Makarov or something, hell idunno. Also, in LOST there was a G-Man reference.
I really really hope Valve puts the money they've gathered through Steam/MannCo into making a new Source engine, or greatly improved one, and new Half-life and the likes. They can afford it, and they'd make even more money then. :saddowns:
they never delayed episode 3
They probably delayed the announcement lots of times, we just don't know about it.

The source engine is so versatile anyway.
the hype is lost for me unless we get some info soon i am giving up hope
Christ, they can't be serious if they're meaning Half Life won't make an appearance anytime soon. It's just... unreasonable. There's just no logical explanation as to why this would take so much time, that I can come up with. If they indeed are, I hope to God they have an damn good reason for it.
I bet they had all their resources working on Portal 2 and engine improvements all this time.
They can call it Gordon's Gay Orgy, as long as it's the same game
How much longer must the Half-Life fanbase suffer neglect?
How much longer must the Half-Life fanbase suffer neglect?
until they want to stop
I think they're just waiting for inspiration or something. I doubt that after so long it's about technical difficulties anymore, it's likely about wanting to do other franchises than just Half-Life. You know how you're told to write a story but nothing comes up? Week later you get a massive inspiration and write three pages in 15 minutes. Probably the same thing, they're waiting until they feel like actually making it good. Forcing games out isn't a good idea, CoD displays the consequences too well.
they had the story set it stone since orange box release
Wouldn't you know :v: But it's more than just the story. Making a good map or a good model or even a good texture requires some inspiration.
Wouldn't you know :v: But it's more than just the story. Think of how much they have to redo. [editline]3rd June 2011[/editline] Hint: I bet they're redoing almost every HL2 asset to be updated with the current engine

Most likely Ep3 will be in a completely different terrain.

I Think I give up on waiting for this. Until I hear some solid evidence of it existing I am going to act like the game is never coming and that hl2ep2 was the end.
