Man... I don't want to be with my hopes up.
But god dammit! At least a teaser video in this E3! 5 seconds of game play, or at least aknowledge the game! Is that too much to ask Valve to give us? It almost seems like they are ignoring their fans because they are really not working on this game.
I'm sad now...
I can imagine episode 3 starting with a video left by Eli.
I could easily see that in place of the classic G-Man intro, and it would be awesome. And now, I want HL3 even more. Why the fuck did you have to say that.
I want to see some new fucking weapons, new animations, new character models, updated textures and Lamar.
And for the love of god, A BOSS FIGHT!
Nope....
Lamarr!!
Wow, a Panama facepuncher. Now I've seen everything.

Just no.

It would be something simple, with the emotion left in it, something GMan lacks.
He'd probably say something like.
"Gordon, there is so much I have to tell you, but I fear our mutual friend may have other ideas. Whatever you do, you must destroy that ship!"
Or something akin to such lines, expressing a sort of "foresight" into his death, as if he prepared for the worst. He could basically go into more detail about the GMan, a sort of 'you're now completely on your own' type feeling. You've not got the vorts to protect you, no GMan to rescue you, no Eli to guide you. Alyx is in shambles, as is the resistance.
It's effectively up to Gordon to deliver the killing blow and push the combine out of our world once and for all.
I guess the Borealis went to the seas through a massive portal, large enough for the ship to go through. Such rips in the dimension must be unstable and must've fucked something up. Now, how could the Combine utilize this? Well, first of all they could transport massive amounts of troops on other planets easily with such technology. They have transuniversal teleportation but not interuniversal. The portal technology could provide that and Borealis could have that exactly. Probably Eli and Kleiner knew of how much this could benefit mankind in space travel and such. Thinking about it could make sense. Only problem is that not every single planet is the Moon, therefore making portals a 50/50 thing.
Now, didn't they mention they had a team working on Episode Three long, long ago? I doubt they've abandoned it, think about how long Half-Life 2 was. If this will end their most popular franchise and be the motherfucking climax of Gordon's adventures, there is no way they can make it less than perfect. That kind of stuff takes time. Half-Life 2 took what, 9 years was it? That game was pretty damn good, but not perfect. Episode Three is probably going to be another DNF.
I just hope it's not, so give me rainbows.

Except near the end of the transmission it should go crackly and G Man should cut in and finish off the intro with one of his speaches. GAHH CHILLS DOWN THE SPIINE
Also: Remember the part in Ep2 when Alyx says " Prepare for unforseen consequences" and you see Gmans outline fade in and out of the crackling screen? It was quite possibly one of the most badass/creepy/atmospheric moments in games

*Game ends*
alyx should make a bunch of winter puns
"Freeze, scumbags!"
"Ice to see you, Mossman."
"I'm sorry for having been a bit cold to you lately, Gordon, but you know, after what happened to dad..."

The game is going to be EXACTLY like Battleground: Earth, except instead of using Harrier jets that they found at Fort Knox, they're going to use the Russian copter to drop a nuke. In Space. End of Story. BAM.
Could anyone explain the bottom portion of the borealis.tk site to me?
It reads:

Don't worry about it, that site is not Valve related.
Besides the first part is a date, the second is probably the steam username of the guy who made the site.

If that's his username, should we all do something and give him a piece of our mind?

That would not surprise me, but in comparison to the Zombine joke, I don't know how many times until I no longer can withstand this.

Really? Not even in GM from all this time? Well, if she is standing right next to you, I guess you really don't need to use your gun when you got a crowbar.
One of the reasons I'm so excited for EP3 is because of EP2's ending.
We all know what happened. The only other human being (to your knowledge) that had done business with Gman dies.
It made me realize that there's a chance Gman is far more powerful than we know, perhaps controlling randomness itself (IE sending the Advisors to kill Eli and then sending DOG to stop them from killing Alyx and Gordon, without actually ordering them to) all because Eli told Gordon that he knew about their mutual "friend."
Of course I could be wrong, but the Advisor's arrival seemed all too random at that moment, especially given the circumstances. You're face to face with Eli, and possibly minutes before he tells you more about his dealings with Gman, 3 of the most powerful Combine units burst through the ceiling and kill him, but are thwarted before they are able to kill the two people most important to Gman's plan? Not to mention, having just successfully launched the rocket, Eli's usefulness had run out. The fact that he had information on Gman and was about to sing only hurt his chances for survival.
TL;DR: Gman used his influential powers to kill Eli, and is more of a threat than we know.
Shaped like a human, but if you have powers that can control time and space, I don't think Gman is human. I would not like if it turned out that Gman was evil for that reason to kill Eli. I can however see Gman later saying that Eli had to be sacrificed, since Alyx was not or something. Off topic, its not like the G in his name stands for a certain search engine does it?
I don't intend an advert, but I swear the first 30 seconds when the guitar logo plays it sounds almost like Triage at Dawn.

Except not so professional. If not that fact, it almost sounds like a reference of Half-Life 2 to me. I don't know much about music, but I can not for the life of it, get my mouse to pluck anything close to that song. Must be nice to play guitar.

Do you guys think Eli could be revived in EP3/HL3 like Alyx did in EP2?
Do you guys think Eli could be revived in EP3/HL3 like Alyx did in EP2?
Alyx got stabbed and the vorts used their alien magic to fix her up.
Eli got his brains sucked out. Bit too late for a revival
-snip- what was I thinking
Okay, thanks.

Ever notice how the Advisor's sucky-tube thingy is perfectly white and clear until it stabs into his head, and then when it's sucking his brain out, you see blood and pink material going through it?
Yay Valve for the DISGUSTING yet awesome detail!
I think because of how disgusting they are, Advisor deserves to die.
