You guys seem to forget that Counter-strike last major release was in 2004. So isn't it fair that it gets a sequel now that there has been 2 major releases of a half-life product since 2004?

And Valve themselves isn't the team really behind CS:GO (feels weird saying that) It's the dudes behind the continued updating of CSS (separate studio) that are making the game.

They're the guys behind the L4D and CSS Series. Valve will be working on DOTA 2 and EP3 (And more hats for soldier obviously).

Since Valve said they upgrade the engine for every game they release, I am hoping 6 games worth of upgrades between episode 2 and 3 will really show in both graphics and gameplay.

I think that we should just sit on our hands and wait. We now know that there is another Counter-Strike coming out, this is a good sign for all of the Half-Life fans out there because it means that Valve just ticked off another reason why they wouldn't be working on Half-Life 3. The fact that they're not directly making also adds more integrity to the idea that they're working on something fucking huge. They've got they're hands deep into the hunni pot boys

Not a cutscene. Gordon is frozen in time and space (or if not that, everything is slowed down during his encounter), and he cannot move.
