Just Cause 2 V.5 "WE NO LONGER HAVE A FUCKING SUBFORUM" - Games

Just bought this for £13 new (Shopto.net), should arrive tomorrow. I didn't think the demo was that great, but a few of my friends are obsessed with this and I don't think it'll be that bad for £13.

I have a problem with Just Cause 2. When I start the game I get this error : Fatal DirectX Error! Code: 17 Result : 0x80070057: E_INVALIDARG The game wil now exit.Try starting the game in failsafe mod. 1.) I reinstall DirectX from Just Cause 2 folder , nothing. 2.) How the fuck do I launch it in failsafe. 3.) DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer said I have the latest update & I unistalled, reinstalled & repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) but nothing! Please help me!

Here are my specs : Ati Radeon 4870 Intel Core i5 2.66 ghz (Quad Core) 4 GB DDR3 1 TB Hardrive. Also I don't have any saved games anyway...

you're running vista/windows 7, right? anyway, to use failsafe use the steam shortcut parameter "/failsafe"

what's the area with the longest downhill without like, being a cliff? where you could always have your tires on the ground? bonus points if it has a ramp at the end.
