In terms of replayability, not really. Small choice of special infected (and as a result, too boring and limited versus mode) and a poor amount of weapons (in a zombie game!) are the things that make L4D1 feel very repetitive to me.

In terms of gameplay, no. L4D1 has better maps that have a better quality, the animations are also better. L4D2's felt slightly assed in both of those areas.
