Last week I played Cold Stream. Sadly we never got passed the first chapter...

I think the L4D team is just being stupid, actually supporting a horrible map like that, but no matter how much the community complains, they're not gonna change it cause they and the terrible mapper like it.
I think that they're just putting this stupid pile of crap out to distract us from some awesome story-filled full-5-level campaign they're making!
even so, they cant just reject the campaign now since they went all the way to ask him to do it
thats like removing hats in tf2 just because people complained
no matter how terrible these things are, its too late to just remove it
This is what bothers me the most about it. The general idea of the campaign is just so dumb and poorly executed that it's too broken to be fixed. Even if you polish out all of the bugs and the glitches and the exploits it's still a crappy campaign. Walking through a forest, down a stream and across a big blocky bridge isn't really appealing. This campaign has no apparent purpose as to why the survivors are there. Sure that may not be required but still, the L4D community could have lived without a generic forest campaign.

You know that guy who made Cold Stream already pulled out like 3 crappy campaigns out of his butthole - all of them are shit and it wouldn't damage to just tell him to get better at mapping and ACCEPT CRITICISM.
The L4D team's been in the drains for years. I don't think I can think of a single DLC/update that I would call top-notch and great.

Crash Course and The Sacrifice were crap, The Passing was pretty good in terms of map-quality, but it failed at the concept of the L4D1 survivors. I would have preferred it if they had it so that you could choose any 4 of the 8 to go do a task or what not, or maybe 8 player coop which would add 8 vs 8 versus.
It's a real shame Valve doesn't take this game seriously, it does have a lot of potential.
It really does. There so much they could do with it and have it expand. But I don't know, I think Valve lost their creativity and they should just let it die at this point.
The only way I would lay a finger on a L4D3 is if it was everything I've ever wanted in L4D:
1. Good lovable characters that have a lot more to them other than being stereotypical.
2. A wide-spread of weapons that are all balanced, well-made, and well-animated.
3. New infected that are balanced and not a gigantic walking joke (the Jockey is just a ridiculous idea for an infected and is useless 90% of the time in regular versus play), as well as them also having some character to them. (Charger and Spitter are a big success in my opinion.)
4. Better, more polished maps. This is why No Mercy is the most successful map. The surrounding is always changing with every level as well as the environment giving you a lot to look at, while leaving a lot of places for zombies to do their thing.
5. Some sort of customizable system. I don't see the problem in creating your own survivor as long as you do the modeling + voice work. As well as maybe leaving a small kit for creating simple custom characters. If the custom survivor is playing with default characters, they will refer to them as "guy/girl/'you!'/etc."
6. A spectator system that allows you to play as a regular zombie (or maybe a bird like in GMod Zombie Survival?) while awaiting your next respawn. As an option, of course. Otherwise you should be focusing on your next attack. (But that's kinda hard when you don't know what infected you'll be spawning as, right?)

The part that bothers me the most is that it's a new campaign, but it's not actually part of the Left 4 Dead storyline at all. Fuck Cold Shit, I want to find out what happens after The Parish!

I kind of like the Jockey. He's sort of stupid-funny, with his cackling and weird posture. He's not exactly fearsome though, just more of a walking joke. But I don't think he's a bad infected, his attack style can be useful if used right too. However I see what you're saying, overall he's sort of an unrealistic, goofy and out of place infected.
Maybe if they implemented a system where the Jockey is actually somewhat of a "rare special infected" in which he only spawns whenever the survivors are seperated/low on health?
I mean yeah, it's a bit silly that he can jump on your back and "control your movement" and you can't do anything about it until somebody else takes it off. While the Charger, Hunter, and the Smoker clearly have a grip on their victim enough for the survivor to clearly have an issue fighting back on their own.
I just tried I Hate Mountains and Suicide Blitz.
I Hate Mountains
Now, the IHM campaign was pretty decent, narrow corridors and open spaces were scattered pretty well, giving your gameplay style a constant change. Some of the big guns never saw the light of day, though. All of the assault rifles were outmatched by a shotgun indoors because it was seriously close fucking quarters combat. Outside, however, the M14 or G3 sniper rifles took the gold medal. No medium range combat was really needed and if there was, either weapon could've solved it just fine. Even more, the bots took business with their spray&pray w+m1 assault rifle style if anything major came our way. I didn't see one Tank, NOT ONE TANK before the finale. That was a bit disappointing. I found a few easter eggs and the text on the walls was pretty fun to read as always and the maps were really good, but the best thing I experience wasn't actually completely the mod's credit. When you run to the chopper and it crashes through the fence leading to the crypts, I had a werewolf Hunter mod. So when I walked to the crypts, a werewolf crawled out of them. It was night time, a moon was glowing on the sky and I was on a cemetery. How classic. So it could've been a bit better here and there.
+ Awesome maps
+ Offers a change of gameplay often
+ Challenging depending on your skill completely
+ At times amazing atmosphere
- Slightly too linear
Suicide Blitz
Now this is a good campaign. Seriously, I've not had this much fun in L4D or L4D2 in ages. First of all the Director spawned me in the first map with an axe which I proceeded to carry through the entire campaign. Every single weapon is a viable option in this map. You got CQC, narrow corridors to bottleneck infected in, open areas where you need a quick hand to pick off targets and some cliffs where you simply need to be fast to react if a Smoker pops out. About the cliffs, since you can't see the infected every time before it's too late audio becomes even more important. I stopped more than once just to listen in on the surroundings. This saved me a lot of pounces, charges and smoker pulls. The maps themselves are linear as are all L4D maps, but they really don't seem like it. Everything has multiple routes of in and out, making it feel like a freeroam map. If you don't follow the handily usual safehouse signs you'll run into a dead-end, having to backtrack all the way to the last sign. However, the game gives you a consolation prize in the form of some small supplies, usually a pipe bomb or some pills. So you can go out of your way and try your luck at finding that Molotov you need for a certain bottleneck or you can ignore it and eliminate the chance of getting seriously hurt by an ambush. Either way, I can't really find a bad thing about this campaign without thinking really carefully. The seemingly non-linear can be also slightly frustrating at times, I guess. For example, I actually went on in circles in the undergroudn section about three times before finding my way into the saferoom. And the saferoom was in a train tunnel, on a train cart. The visibility is low and the walkable area is very narrow. When a Tank spawns right next to you it isn't the most pleasing surprise. Even moreso when you get pummeled into a small Safe Room and the Tank decides to follow you there and block your only way of escaping. I managed to survive that with adrenaline and some well-located axe swings, but that isn't the most pleasing of surprises when you've been running around the map trying to find the saferoom and all of your ammo is gone.
+ Great maps
+ Great gameplay
+ Neat crescendo events
+ Helps to quiet down and listen at times
+ Is pretty much balls to the walls hard if you try to w+m1
+ Feels non-linear when it really isn't
- If your sense of direction isn't good, you're going to be going in circles for a long time.
People probably have played these as well, thought I'd give my two cents about them.
I think Valve stopped caring for Left 4 Dead since L4D2 was released.

I think they stopped caring about the whole L4D series after L4D2 release. Apart from The Passing layout and The Sacrifice plot, everything else released to L4D2 was pretty "meh". The mutations are just bad. I'd rather have the No Mercy apartment ledge glitch - wich is there since L4D1 - fixed than receive a game mode wich the only thing different than the campaing mode is that everybody is holding x weapon.
Hey guys let's give everyone a Desert Eagle and M60 with infinite ammo and call that a brand new game mode! That doesn't take any effort at all and can easily be replicated with mods or the console!
It's been a little while since I last popped in this thread, but I've released a new model:

Halloween was always her favorite holiday. My first public model made from scratch, this features Zoey in a "courtesan" costume based on the courtesan multiplayer character from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Very nice ideas. I like the idea of making some sort of customizable option to your characters, as long as it doesn't involve hats. I think they should add more game modes as well.
Not enough tits.
As much as it pains me to say this, I agree.
It's a courtesan. It's SUPPOSED to sexually attractive. And Zoey there just looks... Uh... Not.
Thanks for the feedback so far. In a later revision, I would like to add some more polys between the blouse and the chest to smooth out the transition, but I'm definitely not going to increase her bust size or anything like that. The original model makes me think she falls somewhere between an A and a B, but who am I to judge? I didn't really design the model with the intention of it being "sexy" but rather fun/amusing, à la the Mad Max Ellis one I did by request.
I'm sure everyone has their own interpretation of Zoey, but she just doesn't strike me as a girl that has remarkable cleavage, and I'm still haunted by the fact that one of my closest friends in high school felt the need to stuff her bra on a daily basis. Thus I'm reluctant to give Zoey something Valve never gave her.
With regard to her head being out of proportion, well that's just nonsense. I modeled the clothes directly from Valve's original mesh for her to follow the contour of her original body as faithfully as possible, so if anything looks out of proportion, that's how Valve made her--which is arguable, I suppose. (Everything on the model is derived from some part of the original model, in fact). I'm sorry if you think women need cleavage to be sexy, but there are plenty of sexy women out there that get by without astounding cleavage.
I demand Valve release auto tapes with Ellis telling stories of him and his buddy Keith. I need to know. I NEED TO KNOW.
[editline]Edit:[/editline]
Fuck, I mean audio tapes*
