According to l4ddev Cold Stream was suppose to be released today, but due to the content servers still being under stress, was pushed to Monday. I hate seeing the L4D maps ported to L4D2. People who think that just porting them and they'll work perfectly are stupid. What people never seem to realize is that the L4D maps were specifically designed with L4D's special infected in mind, not L4D2's special infected.

Like Blood Harvest's ending and the train station, to prevent those areas from being dead hard and dead easy (respectfully). I think they also want to try moving the L4D1 maps to get a feel for how the community responds to it and plays to it. Maybe we'll see more L4D1-survivor DLC in the future, or a move to campaigns which are much more claustrophobic like L4D1. Anyway, I personally found No Mercy really fun in L4D2 but also not anything special compared to L4D1. The new SI mix things up a bit and make the ending finale harder, but L4D isn't really a hard game in the first place :colbert:.

I think that would be more enjoyable and a bit more fitting since it involves refueling a vehicle.
No please no not again. Am I the only one that hates those Scavenge Finales?
The scavenger finales are ok but they're not nearly as good as the gamemode. If they're done right they're a lot of fun, but when cans are too far apart (Dead Center, The Parish, The Sacrifice) it's just annoying, frustrating, and not a lot of fun.
Do people still play L4D1? It's the only one I own for some asstastic reason.

In my opinion, they aren't really the most fun things and we already got them for Dead Center and The Passing plus countless community maps. But the real reason would be that it's a stupid idea in real life to fill tiny gas cans with jet fuel if you need so much. I mean, it's jet fuel. You'd need like 100 gas cans to fill up the C-130J. So I don't think they will. [b]However, if they port Crash Course, you may have to fill up THAT generator to do it :).[/b]
If done right a Dead Air scavenger hunt finale would be cool. I would like to see a scavenger finale, though, where the cans are easily accessible but you have to wait a period of time to fill the canister. The holdout for that sort of finale would be a lot more fun.

l4ddev verified tonight actually that only the beta of Cold Stream is coming tomorrow, not the L4D1 campaigns :C. BUT, they will announce the release date of the whole DLC "in a little bit."

True but at least we'll have something written down to think about and Valve to work to, instead of shooting in the dark.

Oh that's right, big update for L4D in a few hours. On the topic of scavenge finales, I used to hate them because I didn't know how to throw the cans. I would see my teammates throwing them off the edge and rage because pressing the use key only lays it at your feet.
One time while playing Dead Center me and some others wanted to save time so we split up and all went to get cans and then threw them into a big pile so we could just stroll back to the pile to get another can when we were putting in the fuel. Big mistake. A Spitter came and set them all on fire and we were all raging.
Scavenger is not a fun gamemode. Original, not fun.
