I only care about the L4D1 campaigns tbh, because I prefer them to sunny open L4D2 ones and all the new stuff L4D2 has will make them better for me. I couldn't care less about Cold Stream due to how awful and boring it is. There are a lot of other campaigns that deserve to be added like I Hate Mountains, Suicide Blitz 2 etc.
Also it annoys me that we won't see the end for the L4D2 cast most likely.

The phrase is "I couldn't care less"

oops how could I miss that
thanks for correction
It's been awhile since i played l4d2. I'm still good at it though.
I'm indestructible when using charger.
Probably ill play it later.
You people probably didn't know or think about this, but there are a few rumors that say Cold Stream will include L4D2's International Weapons that were normally for the Germans. I highly understand if you think this is madness, which it probably is (Thank Garry for giving us the ability to use Bold and Italic again, I wonder what the Facepunch patch has to tell me now)
Madness or Sparta? Your choices.
according to l4ddev blog update is at 10am pst
which is now!
Anyone wanna play No Mercy in L4D2? I'm bored :C

If that's anything to go by, it looks like it's just more cold stream changes.
I swear optimism is for retards.
If 20,000 people get the Steam ticket achievement, Dead Air will be released early on July 22nd according to the new blog post.
While we are still tweaking Cold Stream and making some game play changes, we really want people to pound on the Cold Stream maps and help us find any bugs.
Normally on an internal project we would have the whole company take a part of each day and do nothing but play the upcoming game or DLC and submit bugs. To add to the fun we often give out prizes for participating. Since Cold Stream is not just being developed internally but also with the community - we want the community to help pound on the campaign and look for bugs.
What’s your prize? If 20,000 people can earn the Stream Crosser achievement (Survive a campaign of Cold Stream on any difficulty) by the end of day this Sunday, we will give all Steam players a reward - On July 22nd we will release Dead Air from the upcoming Cold Stream DLC early.
Don’t have Left 4 Dead 2 on the PC yet? Maybe you play on the Xbox 360? Here’s some encouragement to give it and Cold Stream a try; Left 4 Dead 2 is 75% off today only! That makes today the perfect time to pick up a copy or gift one to a friend.
Yeah.
Valve could treat the consoles a little better sometimes, imho.
Even though I'm not a fan, Orange Box on 360 and PS3 are great examples.
I'm getting an update.
A 7GB update.
What.

EA was the one who did those not Valve, Blame EA
EA only did the PS3 port. 360 version was made by Valve.
EA was the one who did those not Valve, Blame EA
Valve made the 360 version but never updated it because Microsoft would have made them charge people. The PS3 version was done by EA UK and thus was a broken as all hell.

Now the CSS weapons are something I could be excited about. Only complaint is how useless the AWP is in L4D2 right now though. It's bolt action so it's basically useless for combat.
Holy Shit. Valve made Cold Stream good! The finale is completely restructured, I knew where to go first time!

Nah, only the PS3 version. Valve gave a little bit more support to xbox iirc though.

I remember hearing about that; lame, but probably for the best that the game is left unupdated.

Is it actually worth playing now?
If 20,000 people get the Steam ticket achievement, Dead Air will be released early on July 22nd according to the new blog post.
Again with this ARG-like shit? Come on Valve, all you did with this last time was release Portal 2 a few hours early, just give it a rest and give us our campaigns.
Well the idea is that getting 20,000 people to play also means 20,000 people help iron out bugs.
The part on Cold Stream were you need to travel down the flooding stairs was really cool.
No one answered me before:
Is Cold Stream actually worth playing now?
Anyone want to play some L4D2?

It's kinda improved, but still...
I remember Cold Stream being one of the buggiest maps ever.
I just did a playthrough of Cold Stream for the achievement, single-player, Normal.
I am seething in rage.
After easy pickings in the first map, I think the AI director bugged or something. There was almost always a constant swarm of common infected, yet no accompanying music. And because the bots were a little behind as usual, they all attacked me specifically. But the Director must've been on its period or something as well, because I got 4 spitters in a row and then 2 boomers right before the end of the 2nd map. In under a minute.
3rd map was alright, nothing major. The constant swarms seemed to of calmed down. Then the 4th map came and made me miserable. Despite Coach and Nick being well over half health and in good condition, they both used their first-aid kits along with the really-injured Ellis. And then they didn't bother to pick up the goddamn First-Aids lying infront of them. The radio you call is still bugged, you don't hear anything from it and you can't leave the saferoom until you wait about 15 seconds after using it and use it again.
It took me three tries to beat the finale. Because the first time I got mauled by a Hunter with Nick standing next to me and doing nothing. And the second time, no one fired at the last Tank and we got mauled to fuck. The final try, we manage to get all the way to the end despite about 3 chargers, 2 smokers, 1 hunter, 2 spitters, and 1 jockey harrassing us in about the length span of a minute. I get downed twice, black-and-white screen, but we finally make it to the helicopter.
The helicopter goes off and circles around for the leave - and the game crashes instantly. It's like the AI Director got so pissed at me winning that it made the whole game call quits.
Thankfully it counted me for the Steam summer tickets thing, but my head is about to explode from the sheer rage.
I really, and I mean really don't want to touch Cold Shit, even if it means Dear Air is going to be released approximately one hour before its scheduled release date, because we all know [sarcasm]how well this plan worked for the release of Portal 2, don't we?[/sarcasm]

Playing with bots is asking for rage. I played No Mercy another day and accidentaly I got hanging on a ledge, instead of saving me the bot jumped off of it and died.

Yeah I gotta agree. I'm not gonna waste my time in Cold Stream just to get Dead Air released early. Even if they iron out all the problems with that campaign I still just don't like the premise of it. Forest/swamp campaigns never really appealed to me in L4D. There's just nothing really interesting about most forest campaigns.
I Hate Mountains was fun though, however they used a lot of interesting locations like the manor, the crypt, the lumberyard etc.
