I bet Jockey is going to be fun to play on the last level of Dead Air. The level is so large you can drag a survivor really far.
Jockey and Charger will be fun to play through the entire campaign!
Yay! New update!
Dead Air was always my favorite campaign. Can't wait to test out the changes.
It's probably going to have quite a few changes since L4D2 has more special infected and in my opinion a bit harder.
So is it out?
So is it out?
yes
Is there anyone that wants to play a game of dead air right now? I can't find any opened games.
Will DA be released on the 360? Yes I know what you guys will be like "Hahahaha Xbox 360, lololo" feel free to get it out, but anyway will it?
Will DA be released on the 360? [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] I just got finished with it and I gotta say I saw almost nothing changed whatsoever. First level seemed identical to how it was before, I may have missed something. Second level was the same too, only ( this goes for the entire campaign ) the apparent changes were that they used the versus style of the campaign ( from L4D1 ) instead of it's original style. Third level seemed to be the same too. Fourth level also the same, only this time around you're forced to go through the metal detectors. The finale was also exactly the same, save for a wall of fire that spawned in front of that runway rope after the plane had crashed. This looked a bit cheesy, not to mention it was the only thing they did to change the finale. Personally I'm fine with next to no changes, Dead Air is a great campaign so you don't need to fix what isn't broken. ( Although some finale changes would've been nice, not even two tanks? )
Just had a quick run through on coop with some bots. Not a lot of changes as far as I can see. The crescendo on map 2 has a tiny change to it so it's not as open. In Map 4, The Terminal is now mandatory to go through the metal detector and there weren't any big changes in the finale. Also, there was no intro music and it used L4D2's music for other things, such as the music that plays when you run to the escape vehicle.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention, they put road crew UCI in the Airport. I wonder why. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] Riot cops would've been more fitting imo.

I noticed a sparse number of SI.
So the finale isn't a scavenge finale? Well, I'm disappointed.
It's suppose to be like the original campaign so why would they have that? Also I got two tanks at the finale.
It's suppose to be like the original campaign so why would they have that? Also I got two tanks at the finale.
You mean you got one tank at first then two tanks at the same time at the end?
Oh I thought you mean't total.
Oh I thought you mean't total.
Yeah sorry I wasn't very clear about that.
I really hate it that the group of friends I play with has one guy who only likes Versus. Then I finally got us to play Realism and everyone tought that it was fun and then something happened and we wen't back to versus. But I don't like versus, I like normal co-op when I can hit "thirdpersonshoulder" and watch my character walk with his gun in a resting position. Whilst in Versus it is: RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN FUCKING RUN!!! WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOUR STUPID SCAVENGING!!! I DON'T CARE IF THERE IS MEDKITS OR MOLOTOVS THERE, WE HAVE TO RUN!!!
And they used L4D2 music yet again despite No Mercy having correct one and I am pretty sure they'll never fix it like Sacrifice.

They can both be fast paced and fun but when it comes to co-op you can make mistakes and be more laid back ( if you're playing with friends that is. ) Like just take your time and enjoy yourselves, however it can be fun to play fast and competitively in versus. And yeah I miss thirdpersonshoulder in versus, it was always fun getting to look around corners for special infected.
Time to play some Dead Air!
Really good. For those that haven't played Dead Air (2), there are some good map changes that really make everything feel more frantic. I'll let you find out for yourself, but near the end of The Terminal I didn't know what to shoot first. They come from everywhere!
I'd play some Dead Air, but my headset is currently FUBAR and I'm not getting a new one for a few days. :saddowns:
And they used L4D2 music yet again despite No Mercy having correct one and I am pretty sure they'll never fix it like Sacrifice.
That's probably because this is a beta version, not final release. Ignoring the fact that the Sacrifice doesn't have that either, though.
I've never played the original Dead Air. Will I like this one?
I've never played the original Dead Air. Will I like this one?
Yes.
And they used L4D2 music yet again despite No Mercy having correct one and I am pretty sure they'll never fix it like Sacrifice.
There's nothing that needs to be fixed. It used the L4D2 theme in the saferoom music and intro because it takes place down with the L4D2 survivors, the horde music is from L4D1 though. Even in L4D2 though, it used L4D2 music, I don't see how it's broke or needs to be fixed. But the fact that No Mercy's music is in L4D2 and they used L4D2 music is just dumb.
so the beta release of dead air is only single player right? i see no options to search/create a dead air co-op or versus yet.
so the beta release of dead air is only single player right? i see no options to search/create a dead air co-op or versus yet.
Uhh, nope. I clicked Play Campaign and there were dead air games, I can also create a Lobby with Dead Air, so I'm not sure what's wrong.
why are the l4d1 survivors so silent?
I've never played the original Dead Air. Will I like this one?
Definitely. Dead Air is considered one of the best L4D campaigns, along with Death Toll and No Mercy. (Fuck Blood Harvest).
