I've had it for about 2 days now. Rebooting didn't help either.

I keep spamming the "continue updating" button a few times and then it finishes. (since it gets a tiny bit done in the gap between stopping again)
I got a bit of a L4D2 problem too.
Well actually it's a friend of mine.
She gets the message "Could not load library matchmaking" after the intro.
This thread basically sums it up.

Problem is, we both can't follow the instructions because we can't find those files. The instructions in that thread don't correlate with what we see on our computers.
We both go into the steam folder ... from then on ... that's it. That's as far as those instructions take us...

He's assuming you know to look into your steamapps folder. Go to this address, replace C:\ with whatever drive you have Steam installed to.
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2
I don't have a bin folder, but I also don't have it installed, so.
I remember the L4D series! I loved having my own fort server.

Yeah, but it's a common [I]feature[/I] of FPS's to not be able to see your legs. Therefore, L4D is not a FPS while L4D2 is.

You're a dumbass if you think seeing your legs or body means it's not an FPS.
"First-Person Shooter" means you're playing as the character in first person, as if you are them.
It actually makes it more of an FPS to see their body, since it means you're the character.
By your logic, Halo 2, F.E.A.R, and L4D aren't FPSs, and that's the stupidest thing I've heard of in a while.
Stepping aside from the FPS argument, I'd like to mention an awesome custom campaign I just finished playing and highly recommend called "Warcelona". Check it out.

I played this too. Amazingly well done. I especially like the custom zombies and the attempt at other living survivors (even if they were kind of primitive slightly-moving models).
I like the military helicopter flying around shooting zombies with the rear mounted MG.

Yeah, I kinda like being able to see other people wandering about, It helps to make the world feel a little more real. Even if they were just reskinned Half-Life 2 characters.

It was pretty good up until the finale where pings usually spike up and the unsatisfying escape. Also, did anyone else find this room odd?

Only our pool had slit windows along the upper wall, and the shower heads were separated by concrete and curtains.

It bugged me how there was no triumphant music at the end of Warcelona.
