Just got out of a versus match in the new campaign. It was hilarious. You can easily kill the survivors in some spots.
i wonder what they will do with l4d1 after this dlc, it will be totally obsolete
just give the 10 people who dont have L4D1 L4D2 and just keep releasing expansions/DLC/engine upgrades for the game instead of a L4D3
People still play L4D? I thought this game died after the first disappointing DLC for L4D2

Why are people rating me disagree? It's true even look on their website.

Imo it won't be totally obsolete because they're going to half-ass it.
They didn't even rig the survivor models properly, they're not gonna port or remake the original zombies.

It probably has something to do with the fact that it was designed for L4D1, not L4D2. It's not meant to run in the second game because of the simple fact that it was made for the first.

Just played Cold Stream, what a load of shit :frown:
Pretty much no Visual Clues as to where to go, just follow where the most zombies are, unintuitive ways to start Crescendo events, I was never ambushed once by Specials, Uncommon didn't fit and the zombies climbing around the river looked awkward as shit.
There are also a few custom campaigns that haven't been ported over yet, like that Zelda Dungeon one and Mortuary
I wish they would bring back the actual l4d1 survivors' animations. These animations, and the voice, were what made them flesh out, it's nothing in term of gameplay, but still.
Especially Zoey, oh dear.
Tried to play Cold Stream, idiots either kept kicking me or killing for no reasson. They never decided to help anyone when playing through the campaign. shit was horrible
Been trying to play LFD2 now for over a month. Everytime I install the latest update (which takes at least a week due to my internet) they release new content and it continues to repeat as above.
Here's what I posted on a Cold Stream thread on SPUF in which the OP is pointing out everything wrong with the campaign, and what a surprise, half of the posters are arguing with him with invalid points.

I don't understand your problem. You're not being forced to play it. You don't have to take part in the beta. Is your hard drive so small that the addition of this campaign is causing problems? What's the big deal? You don't like it, OK fine, but ranting about it being 'forced' on everybody is just ridiculous.
That's just the thing right there. We don't have to play it, but that means it's going to take up another unnecessary 2GB of hard drive space that will never even be touched. These people have every right to be mad. You know that rock the Tank throws down in one map that incapacitates whoever touches it? That's bullshit right there. If it even touches you, you're down and as soon as you get up, you're wasting a medkit or some pills or something. The shaders on the stream itself look horrific, the settings are unfitting and even though it's non-canon, it still makes no sense how or why the Survivors are in this place and where they're going after they escape. Despite the fact that it's a beta, it's still terribly unoptimized and nearly unplayable. I know most of the Valve teams have been spending the past several months working on Portal 2 and have been throwing every bit of content in the direction of the community, but now that it's done and they're waiting for the day to release it, it wouldn't kill them to realize how much they've butchered Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead by letting the community make these choices, and stop what they're doing before it's too late.
As for Crash Course, Death Toll, Dead Air and Blood Harvest being ported, Valve should add some kind of verification in which you can only play the Left 4 Dead campaigns if you own a legal copy of Left 4 Dead and have played each campaign at least once. Other than that, I have absolutely no problem with these campaigns being introduced to the second game.
welp, may as well click it and pop another few blood vessels.
I'll give Cold Stream the benefit of the doubt, it's still clearly marked 'Beta' after all.
That said, It still needs a ton of work. I find it prone to lagspikes and glitches, and the layout is a mess. I got lost every 5 minutes the first time I played it. There's just too much stuff going on.
I think that SPUF post Lordgeorge linked to got it right: "Everything in here feels like it was put in there just so you could have everything."
Haha, campaign was so bad, 2 of the players left before I finished loading the second map, the third player chilled till my mouse broke, then left.
They should be supporting I hate Mountains, or Overkill. Overkill was fun as hell, and all of the maps had unique gameplay.
Isis posted new stuff:

Screamer.
I've just ordered L4D2 after playing half of one level in a gaming café thing.

It's a game very well worth the investment, just make sure you get some friends you can play with.
Both you and they should have microphones, the game gets a lot better that way.
I've got friends to play with, but no xbox live time yet.
I've got questions to ask about the DLC. There's "The Sacrifice" and "The Passing". What does each of them contain? I've found the websites about them confusing. Does the original base game of l4d2 contain the realism mode?

Yeah, L4D2 has the realism mode vanilla.
What's new in the Passing and Sacrifice are new campaigns.
The Passing gives you the L4D2 Survivors perspective of meeting the L4D1 survivors while The Sacrifice shows it the other way around (both start in different locations but both end in the same one). The Sacrifice addon also contains the chapter No Mercy from L4D1.
I don't like my computer :( Installed L4D 1 today to play with my friends, knowing I would get a little lag I set the graphics settings all the way down, tried it and it lagged. Though "okay, how about the resolution?" turned it down to 720xwhatever and it played smoothly, except when I fire, when I fire it goes down to about 5 fps. :argh:

Upgrade, that's all I can say.
Would never upgrade this computer, it's too shit for that, thank god I've got a better one, although it's not here at the moment.

You need to restart L4D for all changes to effect.
Sounds like you turned down the shader settings from High or something down but didn't restart, which for whatever reasons the game doesn't change until you restart it.
