I made ARIN, the rest is valve code.
All the portal stuff too? Was it leaked?
All the portal stuff too? Was it leaked?
Some of it is legit leaked from 2012, like portal 1 code, and ep3 code (just 2 files), but most of the folders were added in today, and are not real.
Fuck off MasterXykon
Some of it is legit leaked from 2012, like portal 1 code, and ep3 code (just 2 files), but most of the folders were added in today, and are not real.
So you basically took an old leak from 2007, added a bunch of shit to it and called it Source 2? Yes, the leak is from 2007, not 2012. It was released on csmania in 2012.
it also meant a whole lot of content that wasn't supposed to be released was released and Valve suffered an estimated 250 million in damages You can be as angry as you want at Valve but wishing for a potentially destructive leak of the same scale as the 2002 leak is just ridiculous
Do you have an article/more info on the damages of this leak? I'd love to read more about it.

Please build this around prop-based level design instead of brush based. I hope they make importing assets easier too, look at Unity for instance, it's pretty much just drag and drop.
For a concept preview from 2011 it does look damn good.
The broken wood piles look like something made in blender
woooaaah back right the fuck off
luckily there are no random poorly done destroyed cars
If it builds on the old Source engine's code (which I think is the most likely scenario given the generally hereditary nature of most game engines) then for something as simple and tentative as a work-in-progress and (I assume) internally presented engine demonstration it's not surprising that they'd use older assets and/or some Photoshop smoke and mirrors. It's not for us to look at and go 'wow so that's what the new engine looks like'; it's for people within Valve to look at and go 'so that's where we are now' or 'so that's what we're working towards'.
It's been confirmed since the first Source 2 leak that it was built on the same 'pipeline' as Source, so the engine handling things similarly to its predecessor shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody.
being jaded and edgy makes you cool didn't you know
Still calling all of this fake until proven otherwise. All we know is some guy who is known for some leaks got this out of his ass and put it on the internet I'd have to see a bit more proof to call it real
It's hard to believe this is true when it looks like something you could make in the CS:GO SDK.
Except you can't and that would be a LOT of work anyway
Almost as if it was your 9-5 job anyways... oh hmm i wonder who would have that job
being jaded and edgy makes you cool didn't you know
If you're talking about the wood, have you ever actually seen wood break? Because thats how it breaks.
I'm not sure what everyone read cuz I was agreeing with Medevila about Perhaps?'s bullshit nitpicks.
I'm not sure what everyone read cuz I was agreeing with Medevila about Perhaps?'s bullshit nitpicks.
Sorry
being jaded and edgy makes you cool didn't you know
Hi Kettle! Its me Pot.
Meanwhile, someone over at Valve is probably getting their ass kicked about this, assuming it's real.
Valve suffered an estimated 250 million in damages
Does anyone have any idea what kind of damage did the leak have that cost 250 million?
Does anyone have any idea what kind of damage did the leak have that cost 250 million?
IIRC the idea was that it cost them sales because people saw the unfinished game and were like "wow this is terrible"
expect alot of HD remakes when source 2 comes out
Does anyone have any idea what kind of damage did the leak have that cost 250 million?
Besides being embarrassed in front of their fans possibly losing sales by boycotters and possible investors. None
-ok shh-
They saw an unfinished game and judged it on that? That's kind of stupid.
I think it was because the game was already past it's promised release date, and it wasn't even close to finished.
another pretty reliable source claims that they're 3 years old: https://twitter.com/SteamDB/status/428201677750272000
