Drops don't reset, if you trade away your stuff you're not getting it back without more trading or buying it.
Finite?
not infinite
If Valve listens to their community at all, there will be some form of drop cap reset. The finite card drops are being complained about across the board on their official "Post Your Feedback" discussion.

I get that they want to make money but they should still have limited drops after you get all your cards. Say maybe 1 card per week per game after your first amount of drops.
I can see the the logic behind limited drops. Gradually more games will feature cards, encouraging players to get cards from those to trade for cards of the game they want. It also makes cards actually hold some value due to their scarcity.
Anyone with a Level 5 Game Badge (apparent limit?) can say if you keep crafting together cards for that game you still get more EXP and Backgrounds/Emotes or nope?

I suggested giving weekly drop cap resets, but only allowing an account to find certain cards. That way you have dupes for trading and impatient people can buy them on the market. There might be a problem with this system, but I'm not seeing it.
QUITE FRANKLY I FIND MY OWN IDEAS BRILLIANT AND FLAWLESS :v:

They did that for a reason. While many might bitch about it, it makes the card have greater value.
Guess I should have expected to get ninja'd after forgetting to hit submit..
Oops wrong thread
I still got two invites for the beta.
If you're interested please let me know.
The problem is that the system doesn't work even for fans of a franchise.
Let's say I'm a Game X Mega-fan. I wanna max out my Game X badge, get all the emoticons and backgrounds, the works.
It's impossible for me to do all that just by playing Game X. Heck, I can't even craft a single badge or get one emoticon by playing Game X.
If I don't mind spending money, I can buy everything on the community market. But that doesn't say I'm a huge fan of Game X, it says I have a lot of disposable income.
So my only option now is to play Game Y to get cards to trade for Game X cards. I'm forced to play a game I hate in order to get things for a game I like.
Badges don't really reflect how much you love a game. They reflect how much cash you're willing to burn. Someone else can probably explain it better, but that's my knee-jerk reaction.
Same as normal cards. They're just more rare.
What happens if you combine foil with normal cards?
You can't.
You can only craft Foil badges with foil cards and vice versa for normal
Does anyone actually have the foil badge?
do we get cards in the CS:GO free week-end
asking because i played 4 hours and got nothing
So just got a foil card, what is this?
So just got a foil card, what is this?
Rare cards you can only get if you're level 10 or more, sell it for big monies.

You need to have bought the game.
[editline]18th May 2013[/editline]
Basically, check your badges page. If a game isn't listed there, you can't get cards for it.
Could someone tell me if you can only get the amount of drops as unique cards? Or can you get some cards twice?
I know it's late but yes, you can get two of the same card and dupes still count toward your maximum.
Does anyone have any idea about the price of an IDF card in foil? Not sure if i should try to sell it on the market or hold onto it for now.

Ehh, its pretty hit and miss for me. While having a badge indicates either having money to blow or having people to trade with, it doesn't seem to be a system that really shows if you're a fan of a game or a hardcore collector (which falls back on money). I wouldn't mind random drops and whatnot until I got said card. Shit, imagine if we got card drops from other games within non-respective games. Iunno, it was a neat idea to me until I realized I needed to buy or trade for the rest of the cards I want. Sure your friends may trade with you, but to be honest, with the market option there, this is essentially free money for playing a game. I wanna complete my Don't Starve badge since I really like that game, but no one has the cards I seek, which kinda bones me.

As of now, Foil IDF is 19.69 with only 5 standing.

Also, do you not get Dota 2 cards from bot matches?
insert invite beg here

That doesn't sound bad at all actually, the only question is if there is a demand for them.

I don't think it makes any difference if you are on a server or just sitting in a menu as long as you are in-game. The only thing to keep in mind about Dota is that you actually need to have a premium account for it in order to get cards (aka have to spend some money on store like in TF2), otherwise the Dota 2 card list won't even show up on your badges page.

Dunno if theres a demand for foil cards, given their expense. Will probably be down to $5 if old trends are anything to go by. And is that so about Dota 2? Feh, so much for that idea.
Is there a trading website like TF2Outpost where I could post trading deals with cards?
I don't really like how your full profile details aren't visible anymore. I put a brief description of myself and methods of contact on the bottom and now I can barely show anything.

Which is either currently bugged or doesn't apply for Dota 2 specifically after the Beta started, there are people buying Items for the first time in Dota 2 so they are eligible for drops but nope doesn't work. Meanwhile for TF2 it apparently works.
I'm missing the old profile layout now.

you are not eligible if you bought an item after the beta, I did that too :/
if you didnt buy anything from dota 2 before the beta you won't get anything... you can only get ONE drop if you spend $9 in the game

There is, even though not big I saw one of the foil cards go for 70 euro/dollar in the history.
So there IS a deman for it.

Strangely, the lowest Razor's foil cost has gone down from $80 to $50. Riki remains untouched by such problems.
Also, are the Grenade Spammer/City 17 things in the badge menu achievements? How do you get more XP, is it only through getting badges (aka grinding in games until you get a card drop) or through achievements too?
