Oh it's certainly hilariously frustrating. To be walking in a gigantic room filled with loot and suddenly get your foot stuck in a bear trap. Try to free yourself and the trap doesn't budge. Suddenly, you hear a blood curdling yell and a kamikaze dwarf runs into you and explodes. Miraculously you survive with all your limbs blown off. Quickly you pray to a random god but all they do is fill your stomach with food. Then three more dwarves simultaneously run into you. At least you died on a full stomach. True story. Another great story of mine is when I decided to use my lightning wand to zap lightning into a room filled with enemies. The lightning shot through the first enemy, bounced off the wall behind him, bounced off of a second wall, bounced off of a third wall, and then finally landed on the tile next to me. My character hadn't detected the trap that lay there when I walked by. It was a mine. You can imagine what happened next. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Most of my deaths are centered around explosives as you can tell. I've got a serious problem with hoarding mines and gunpowder backpacks thinking they may be useful in sticky situations. It causes a majority of my deaths.
Kamikazee Dwarves are IVAN'S way of saying "Fuck you, you shouldn't have lived this long." I've tried modding the game but I wasn't satisfied with what you could do without editing the source code.
Expedition look like fun, but I can not for the life of me return to Spain without my crew starving or my ships sinking.
Started playing, found a lantern straight off. Wielded it until my lantern skill was like 6 and my unnamed or something skill was 3 then I got my left leg broken off and found a dagger. Later I drank from a fountain, lost my left arm so now I only have my right appendages left...
You're alright.
That Ivan game seems rather fun. Looks like it's all about explosions and fallen limps. Excellent.
You're alright.
At first I was wondering about what a weird thing to say then I re-read it and chuckled.
Looks cool, I'll give it a try. Might want to tell people it's shareware.
By the way it's shareware.
And it's a game where you can build your HOUSE!!!!

They are nearly impossible to dodge, and surviving an attack is nearly impossible. On the off chance that you do survive, you are probably missing multiple limbs, bleeding, and kamikaze dwarves usually travel in packs so another dwarf attack is probably imminent.
I lost all my limbs.. in the dark. And 'something' keeps attacking me, letting me heal, then attacking me again.

I've always wanted a WWI-themed 'roguelike' It would be very short termed, obviously. You'd start in your own trenches with basic gear, and have to cross randomly generated no man's land. If you survive you'd end up in the enemy trenches, also randomly generated (but to a specific algorithm for shapes and shit) with dugouts and all that. If you survive that, you have to advance into more no man's land and the process continues forever until you die. Along the way you scavenge for weapons, medical supplies, tools, other equipment, armor, etc.
"Maj'Eyal"? I thought it was Tales of Middle-Earth...
It was.
It was.
They were cease-and-desisted or something?
They changed it, it says that's what it was formally called.
That Zombie Swarm RL looks interesting, but the Filedropper downloadlink seems to only link to Filedropper's homepage. Anyone know of mirrors?
After playing Dwarf Fortress's adventure mode, I now wish other roguelikes had it's combat system.
I wish Thorny would develop adventure mode more.
No one is playing Knights nowdays over net :/
Garry broke img_thumb and the post icon changed to PHP :v:
[release] Grand Rogue Auto [img_thumb]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bXfSd0zjzMk/TbFGDRADrPI/AAAAAAAAARc/jqfJPYd2aIA/s1600/game035ingame.png[/img_thumb] Yes, you read right. It's a GTA Roguelike. Story takes place in a procedurally generated world, with hospitals, shops, citizens and other buildings. At the moment there are only 'random' missions, as the game is in very early development. How is knights? I've always wanted a multiplayer roguelike
[release] Grand Rogue Auto
Gonna try this out, but we need a good Wild West roguelike. Just imagine it.
Someone is making a MGS4 roguelike.
Someone is making a MGS4 roguelike.
Haha oh god playing dead and looting bodies
I wish Elona had full blown multiplayer :(
Someone is making a MGS4 roguelike.
Source? Google comes up with nothing.
It's from the same guy who made DiabloRL and DoomRL if IIRC. I can't find it on his site, either. I saw it on some roguelike news site.
