Maybe for balance's sake. Wouldn't be boring if you could just pull a gilded dragon pick-axe out of your ass at any time. I think the toolbelt is just there for emergencies.

You can use your tool belt knife to cut webs in high level wild.... Tool belt is officially the best update ever.

Turn that shit off, it just looks like a white filter over everything and disables AA.
I tried to play in OpenGL to get AA and Bloom, but it disabled the new water.

Get 64bit java (if you have more than 2gb ram) and clean out your cache
