I'd be proud of someone who has the willpower and endurance to grind up to 99 Fishing.
99 Hunter was the hardest out of my 3 99's I did legit. And I didn't feel any achievement after finally finishing. The only thing I felt was happiness to have finally finished.
Now why bother when I can just constantly feel happy and still get my lovely, lovely stats that I can use for the more fun parts of the game?
It'd be like playing Battlefield, but first you have to go through school and join the army while supporting a family before actually being able to play online.

This is exactly how I feel.
I'd be proud if I got into University and got to do the course I wanted to do, then went on into a successful career that I've always wanted.
I'm not proud of sitting on some MMO that has no purpose just clicking the same spots hundreds of thousands of times just to get a cape that looks alright.

That only goes for woodcutting and some other skills, i suppose.
There's other skills that you should be proud of reaching 99 with, strength, slayer, prayer, defence, attack, in my opinion.
