The only part I disagree on - sure these people are poor but it's not like these are literal scrap-shacks. Having the house as insulated as possible would be even more important for a poor house as they try to keep what little warmth they have during those cold winter nights.

I've started a grid system in the Wealthy District. Each square in the grid is 6x6 Minecraft blocks. 1 length of road is 1 square(6x6 blocks). A default house is 3x3 squares(18x18 blocks).
This way it will look wealthy, neat, and easy for people to come along and work on.
And I don't believe the wealthy would want to mingle with the poor, so I think there should be another way for them to get to the docks without having to walk along the run down streets.

I'm going om this from a historical angle, and I van assure you that they would be able to afford glass. Even the rich used it sparsely. The only place (yeah, okay that's an overstatement) you would it, is in a church, and maybe some incredibly rich house.

You don't really have to discuss it heavily, just make it fit in. And don't modify anything without getting it confirmed.
Also, I've been working on the poor area a lot, and as you can probably see at the top of this page, there's a lot of things I'd rather not see happen. If people want to, you're welcome to place beds and few pieces of "poor" furniture. And keep the torches to a minimum, really. I'll be thankful for any help, as the area is pretty big.

I came across this thread about yesterday noon. I was kind of thinking, since there are a lot of cathedrals and all that, we also include some kind of a temple.
With this temple thing, I was thinking that this temple should be located outside of the city/town/village away from where there is architecture and buildings (ships, cathedrals, fair stores, etc).
If there is some sort of mountain, we could carve into it.
Because it's a temple, in real temples, there are often large pictures or statues of gods. So why not maybe carve out the mountain for a cave temple and put a pixel art of Jeb (because he is now the leading dev and god of Minecraft in place of Notch). Make the temple look abit old as if it was from centuries away. Place some mossy stone brick blocks and put some ruins inside too at the entrance. There can be some path which leads straight to Jeb's face or something. Below are some pics for what I mean (description of the picture is above the picture)
An entrance or an exit. There could be some ruins near it to make it a sacred, old place. Cave temple can also be dimly lit to show holiness.

There can be some sort of structure inside the cave too. Some buildings where sacred people, monks, etc live to worship Jeb everyday.
