Aww yeah, 30 soldiers all outfitted in full adamantine armor.
I got clay in my area and red sand, does red sand count as sand for glass?
Yellow sand, white sand, black sand, red sand, and tan sand all count as sand. Sandy clay counts as clay, but not sand. Making crystal glass is broke atm IIRC, but that would normally require rock crystal and processed pearlash. Clear glass is any sand + pearlash, which I think works. Glassmaking is amazing with magma, especially if the sand is near, as you can make a tonne of goods really fast - especially good with serrated disks...
Anyone know why i dont have a mayor even if i have 53 dorfs?
God damnit, I traded wooden bins with my stone goods and pissed the elves off. Time for war.
God damnit, I traded wooden bins with my stone goods and pissed the elves off. Time for war.
I wish the elves would war with me. I kill every caravan, display the finest wooden baubles in their face, and burn down forests around them BUT THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK.

Which Warhammer mod is everyone running? There seems to be more than one out there.
I got ambushed in adventure mode, naturally i ripped one of their arms off and beat a soldier to death with it. Then i killed all the other soldiers with the arm-killed guys body.
I really hope something good is added in the release after this one coming. something like a fix for dungeon masters, perhaps along with taming animals in adventure mode? the framework for adventure mode interactions has been laid down IIRC, so that's a possibility. alternately, magic in adventure mode would be awesome, so would undead abominations. but failing that, being able to have kobolds survive world gen would be nice.
You'll enjoy this <wrong URL> That's the next update. Really looking forwards to it, and the next major one after it. Argh, can't find it
Adventure Mode: Placing a Lion in a chokehold while you cut its feet off with an axe.
I wish the elves would war with me. I kill every caravan, display the finest wooden baubles in their face, and burn down forests around them BUT THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK.
my exact problem. i seize anything i want, then kill them. they still want to trade with me.

Am I the only one who feels like the only thing lethal in DF in this version is a hit to the head/heart/spine.
Yeah, feels to me like things don't bleed out as easily as they used to.
Am I the only one who feels like the only thing lethal in DF in this version is a hit to the head/heart/spine.
No, that's pretty accurate, although that's mostly because those are the only things that really kill very quickly/instantly.
No, that's pretty accurate, although that's mostly because those are the only things that really kill very quickly/instantly.
It's ridiculous when it takes 20 turns of hacking at a disabled opponent to kill them, though.
I know this have been discussed a lot, but do one got a proper list/playlist of some sort, that fits while playing dwarf fortress? I know that some songs have been recommended, but no bigger playlist. (of what I know)
I hope above all else that military training will work like it's intended, and not take years to advance one rank in a skill.
Is there a mod that speeds up skill gain during military training? I'm also tired of having dwarves train for years yet get ripped apart instantly by a puny goblin.
Devlog
The dungeon list is down to 22. Half of those are dregs from tombs and interactions, and most of the rest concern getting the dungeons sectioned out, as I mentioned before. Back at the beginning of the month, I was thinking I could make it out by mid-January, and I'm still on track for that, although I think the map maintenance and optimizations have a good chance of holding me up a bit, especially since optimization is on the until-it's-fast-enough schedule. It is going well, though.

Am I the only one who feels like the only thing lethal in DF in this version is a hit to the head/heart/spine.
I've seen my fair share of dwarves bleed to death or die of infection. Sometimes suffocation if their respiratory system's damaged. I mean, that would realistically be the cause of death if someone took a heavy injury to someplace other than the head, heart, or spine.
Disemberment is mostly always lethal. Unless you were talking about organ damage only.

(of what I know)
To be honest, it's normally whatever you like to listen to, unless you know of a massive collection of folk, pirate and viking metal, in which case, tell us. Generally in adventure, the only way that I can kill is head removal or brain smashing. Or bleeding out, but that generally takes a few artery cuts and a while. Oh, and suffocation, as wrestling is godlike.
Disemberment is mostly always lethal. Unless you were talking about organ damage only.
I want a dwarf with no arms or legs I want to see it move itself with his mouth :v:
Is there a mod that speeds up skill gain during military training? I'm also tired of having dwarves train for years yet get ripped apart instantly by a puny goblin.
Build a danger room.
Okay DF, crash on unpause when I load my save. That's cool.
Do burning creatures set other creatures on fire? If so then I think I have an idea on what to do with Elven caravan guards.
I hate how I get the same amount of leather from a butchered cat and a butchered donkey or horse.
Solution is to drop thrm from a high place and let them explode. Issue is, that'll get a lot of butcher shop assignments.
