Been playing a bit Adventure mode and I am having trouble finding shops, when I speak to people titled "Trader" they just tell me to go look for a shopkeeper.

According to the/a Dwarf Fortress Steam group, he did that as an extremely mild SOPA protest.

Ah, didn't know that.
Can't wait for the next release, all the new Adventure Mode stuff are very exciting.
Yeah. I'm not looking forward to spending hours converting my balance fix to the new version though, but there's no way in hell I'm gonna play it without.
Black bears can't be trained for war. Grizzly bears can though.
I think it's determined by the [TRAINABLE] tag. Add that to any animal that also has the [PET] or [PET_EXOTIC] tag and you'll be able to make them into war or hunting animals (war doubles their damage output, while hunting makes them attachable to Dwarves and slightly increases their damage output.)

That's pretty deep.
Is there a way to cure an infection?
I don't know if soap and washing helps a dwarf survive infection or if it only prevents it if applied beforehand.

Soap?

Thanks!
I hate starting a new fortress because I spend like an hour trying to find a suitable site.

Soap only prevents infection from happening in the first place. If someone already has infection, you can only pray that he survives.

I know this might be cheating, but I just got rid of aquifers. It is just so frustrating to find I site you like but it turns out to have an aquifer.

It's fun when you think a copper chain can hold an angry axelord who goes insane and massacres your entire fort.
Really
REALLY
FUN
how do I get rid of this rock salt and jade/onyx, it's hogging my stockpile area

Stockpile them, if possible?
Make a 1x1 garbage dump and dump the stone.
Make a 1x1 garbage dump and dump the stone.
New to the game, like 2 hours in, how do I assign dwarfs to dump it once I set up a garbage pit?
Dwarves should autodump stuff.
Just i then designate a 1x1 square, then make it a garbage dump (g?)
Then d -> b -> d and select all of the gems and rocks you want gone.
It'll take a while (garbage dumping is a low priority job, a dwarf will prefer placing furnature e.t.c) but they'll put them all in the 1x1 square. (quantum stockpile :v:)
After they're in the dump, d -> b -> D (capital) to undump the stuff. (or it might be the "claim" command, d -> b -> c
Zach and I shoveled snow today. There were also six brown recluse spider men set upon a giant elephant seal. The pain and rot had final victory, though many animal people had to be crushed for it to happen. Various other envenomations occurred. I'm down to dwarf-thought preference strings and coloration issues now to finalize the raw text.
I've had two Dwarves get infected twice, and they seemed to go upon their buisness just fine. Health related, for some reason some of my dwarf have tissue damage but never get it treated.

It's a bug I think, someone getting a limb cut off won't be treated because there's nothing left to treat. Dwarven logic. I had one recruit who had his nose sliced off, and he went on sparring as usual until he died of infection caused by the missing untreated nose.
