What part of the volcano do you embark on? You need to get the squiggly red lava icon in the region map to be in your embark location.

Guys, the LP curse does not fuck around. It seems to have manifested itself in my father, sending me on a road trip from central Finland to northern Norway on the very same day I would have gotten the save on otherwise. I'm currently just over the border and this is the last moment I can still post this without paying extra fees for roaming. Feel free to move my turn to a week or so later, I'm coming home in time for Monday next week.

Anybody else having a problem with continually getting impossible missions off the bat as an adventurer? For instance i keep getting thrown up against bands of 5-6 outlaws, the leader of which is usually ridiculously good with whatever weapon it is they use. I cant seem to find any non-abandoned castles to get men from either.

EDIT: of course right after I type this I start an adventure, do extremley well, and find a castle filled to the brim with soldiers willing to follow me. Still, seems like 8/10 times my adventurer gets assigned an extremley hard quest at first.

Sure, the fortress is getting nice and cozy, but the boss seems to have vanished and there appears to be a problem with the food stocks.

Get the Lazy Newb Pack. Lets you toggle things easily, has several tilesets built in and has some of the common utilities included. As for learning to play, that's a matter of either finding an alright tutorial or getting someone else to teach you.

That's a customized Phoebus tileset, it comes with a customizer now so you can pick the parts you want
